About the Role

The Director of Digital E-commerce is an exciting role for anyone who is looking for a fast-growing start-up that is committed to a digital and sales-driven transformation to evolve its brand. You will be responsible for strategizing, planning, and managing and executing on the Mainland China digital marketing objectives. You will be accountable for the near and long-term traffic success of our digital channels, specifically as it relates to the ecommerce platforms. To start, you will be responsible for e-commerce platform sales, demand generation and digital marketing; building up the mini-program store and Tencent ecosystem; and developing the CRM digital strategy.

Major responsibilities include but not limited to the following:

1.     E-commerce

  • Drive improvements of all eCommerce sales channels, including official sites, marketplaces and flash sale sites, to improve acquisition traffic, conversion rate and retention rate
  • Develop initiatives for online sales expansion through new channel development
  • Drive usage of optimization tactics such as: A/B Testing, personalization, dynamic content, etc.
  • Lead execution teams across different platforms; include hiring and training for new personnel
  • Work with retail and merchandising to identify and incorporate products onto e-commerce platform
  • Work with Teaching department, Marketing department, and Agency team on paid campaigns

2.     Digital Marketing – Demand Generation

  • Identify, interpret and capitalize on marketing trends, economic trends, buying habits and demographic characteristics of target customers
  • Define and execute strategies for digital channels with ultimate goal of driving acquisition and traffic to website and stores
  • Create and develop media value for ecommerce platforms
  • Develop digital marketing campaigns and plans that support the business and brands
  • Create Demand Generation strategies for guest acquisition, optimization and retention
  • Forecast channel specific demand and own respective investment business casing
  • Post-evaluates campaigns and competitors’ performance and collates research and results into regular quality reports

3.     CRM

  • Work with Tech department to build the infrastructure needed to fully support CRM, personalization/targeting, social media and mobile push programs, A/B testing, deploying dynamic creative and facilitating triggered marketing
  • Develop CRM and digital strategy, including segmentation and offer strategies to increase customer engagement and retention, lifetime value and experience through the fan journey
  • Develop a KOC program

 

KPIs (not exhaustive):

revenue, traffic, conversion, average order value (AOV), margin, inventory levels, operational KPIs, marketing ROI, paid marketing campaigns, etc.

 

Qualifications:

·       10+ years of e-commerce experience with demonstrated proficiency in digital marketing, performance marketing, social marketing, and campaign planning

·       5+ years managing teams and/or significant complex, cross-functional projects

·       Demonstrated experience in launching brands from 0 to 1 on major digital platforms with a content driven ecommerce business concept 

·       Familiar with all major digital platforms in CN and globally, including Douyin, Xiaohongshu, T-mall, JD, Tencent, etc., (rules & regulations, pros and cons of each platform)

·       Experience with Salesforce Marketing Cloud preferred

·       Data-driven with experience in e-commerce platform analysis, with a passion for continuous testing and optimization.

·       Results-oriented with demonstrated delivery of sales targets, budget development and tracking, and demand forecasting

·       Ability to operate in a fast-paced environment, managing multiple projects simultaneously and prioritizing time and resources based on business impact

·       Ability to build strong internal relationships and build consensus on critical initiatives

·       Fluent in English and Chinese (native fluency required for Chinese)
