The role of the Research Writer is to develop our coverage in Greater China. The candidate is responsible for conducting research and investigations, providing analysis and writing quality reports on the target subject. A curious mind, an ability to read between the lines, and attention to detail are essential qualifications for this role. The successful candidate will have the chance to put the region’s most influential business owners under the spotlight, as you develop expertise in investigative reporting.

Capital Profile is part of Acuris, formerly known as Mergermarket Group, the leading provider of specialist news, research, analysis and data for financial professionals worldwide. Its five divisions – Fixed Income, Transactions & Infrastructure, Compliance, Equities and Research – include market-leading specialist intelligence brands such as Debtwire, Mergermarket, and TIM. Capital Profile is part of the Compliance division. Acuris employs 1,300 staff, including 600 specialist journalists and analysts, in 67 locations around the world.

Main Responsibilities

· Conduct in-depth research and analysis, and draft reports

· Input data and maintain Capital Profile database

· Generate coverage ideas

· Craft content for social media channels

Essential Qualifications

· Excellent written and spoken Chinese and English language skills

· Ability to digest multiple data sources and summarise relevant information accurately

· Sound analytical and critical thinking skills

· Highly meticulous and responsible

· Exceptional organizational, prioritization and time management skills

· Ability to work both independently and in co-operation with team members in different time zones

· Fundamental knowledge and understanding of the business and political environment in Greater China

· Work experience in journalism/ research / compliance / risk management or finance field
