Our client is a leading supplier of Visual Merchandising and shop-fitting solutions for the major names in Global Retail. A privately owned company since 1998, they have entered an exciting time and has ambitious plans for growth over the next 2 years in Asia

The company has two offices in Shanghai and main headquarters in London, also with offices in Paris and Milan, they provide a concept to completion service for international brands with retail design, technical design, manufacture, project management, installation and visual solutions all services offered to the client. The company is a fast paced and challenging environment, it is rewarding and constantly forward thinking being both pro-active to the development of the business and reactive in respect of the industry and their expansive portfolio of clients.

They currently have a vacancy for a full-time, Technical Project Manager to join their team in Shanghai. Their Asia team requires a Technical Manager to support the sales team in the development and delivery and execution of retail fixture projects. This role will be in a demanding fast paced retail environment where adaptability and flexibility to changing demands will be key. The job will require an in depth knowledge of joinery, acrylic, and metalwork manufacture and a good understanding of logistical challenges faced at site installations. The key factors required to gain enough information from the client to ensure that the manufacture and delivery team can deliver a fully compliant product or project. Several years of retail and engineering design and knowledge of China manufacture will be key qualities for the successful candidate.


Responsibilities:

- Manage a team of Technical CAD Designers to ensure work is produced to the highest quality
- Sign off of all technical drawings prior to manufacture
- Work with factories partners to develop clever technical solutions for the client including value engineering on projects
- Support the sales and design team to deliver fully compliant briefs with customer facing meetings to receive new briefs
- Supporting on large projects to ensure all technical requirements are adhered to and ensuring that products are "fit for purpose" and sign off on all project prototypes
- Ensure that the factories supporting the production are capable of delivering the scope of works and fully up to the company benchmark standard for production quality
- Ensure that product is delivered or installed to client satisfaction 100% of 100% and snag free
- Ensure the company's reputation and business profile is fully promoted and protected in China factories; drawings etc.
- Working closely with the Sales Director, Production Director, QC Manager and Project manager to ensure compliance for all projects to achieve on time and on budget deliverance
- Accountable for department budget and weekly / monthly reporting
- Providing innovative solutions for challenges that arise and ensure that there are no cost or timeline implications on projects


Requirements:

- The person should be energetic, able to rise to any challenging project
- Be quickly able to understand and contribute to the company brand values of exceptional client service, innovation, and total transparency in commercial and business dealings
- Extremely competent at customer facing meetings with ability to demonstrate initiative and able to provide informed advice to the client and the sales and design teams
- The candidate will ideally have background within shop fitting, visual merchandising, fixture or manufacturing experience and will have held similar positions previously
- A successful candidate will be able to demonstrate an organised approach to working and have a keen eye for detail
- Will have an in depth knowledge of different material and finishes that are available and widely used with the industry
- They will have outstanding communication skills and be able to work constructively on their own initiative as well as with liaise all departments both in Asia and Europe
- Have the ability and persona to build strong relationships with vendors, their team and the clients
- They will be positive, flexible and committed and be willing to travel
- They will be able to speak fluent English and have exceptional communication skills
- In Depth knowledge of Technical drawings and solid works would be advantageous
- They will be able to think "outside the box" to provide alternative cost effective or value engineered solution to challenges that arise from project to project
