In this role, you will:

Manage the Conduct and Regulatory Risk Control Framework – Implement and maintain a framework of controls appropriate to HSBC Insurance China, which are in line with the business's risk appetite. This will also involve the implementation and monitoring of conduct and regulatory risk projects/programmes covering such topics as

• Conduct
• Conflicts of interest
• Culture and values
• Information control and market abuse
• Anti-bribery and corruption
• Gifts and entertainment oversight
• Data privacy and protection

Implement and lead initiatives to enhance conduct oversight and control as an integral part of the Chief Control Office including:

• Designing and implementing Business Intelligence (BI) tools and dashboards through Qlik
• Conducting deep dives with business stakeholders to enhance existing and new channels – and resolving these pain points

Perform Conduct and Regulatory Risk related tasks including:

• Training and awareness
• Deep dive reviews on issues around conduct, culture and market abuse
• G&E reviews
• ABC and other risk assessments
• Policy review, gap analysis and implementation
• Responsible for the production of related management information and reporting
• Track HSBC Insurance China staff completion of mandatory training on conduct and regulatory risks.
• Regulatory breach & internal incident follow up, investigation, reporting.
• 1st line liaison with internal audit/ compliance on conduct and regulatory risk audits

Establish and maintain strong working relationships with stakeholders – develop strong relationships with Group Insurance and RBWM stakeholders, as well as global functions in the first, second and third lines of defence.

In addition to these key responsibilities, the manager will be expected to:

• Continuously and proactively monitor established conduct and regulatory risk controls against new and emerging regulatory risks.
• Enhance analysis, as required, and present to management Conduct risk and related performance indicators
• Provide regular reporting to senior management on risk and project progress, as required
• Engage business/department management to ensure ownership and remediation of internal/external audit and regulatory requirements pertaining to conduct risk, as required
• Owning the data privacy risk control monitoring process and delegation of control monitoring activities as appropriate. Eg. To Chief Control Office.
• Engage with and support relevant projects/initiatives emanating from Group Insurance and RBWM. Assess whether new projects adhere to conduct risk practices and raise awareness of the need to remediate any identified issues.
• Demonstrate a wide and deep understanding of business areas at the appropriate level and Group requirements detailed in Group Standards Manuals (GSM), Functional Instruction Manuals (FIM), and applicable standards.
