Description
As a member of the LCD Procurement team, you will manage LCD panel qualifications and drive product & supplier quality improvements for HP NB & Tablet products. Your primary functions will be to:
- Assess panel maker quality and manufacturing capabilities
- Execute panel step 3 qualification releases
- Lead panel quality management
- Drives quality improvement initiatives
Responsibilities:
- Ensure the quality, reliability and availability of purchased materials
- Evaluate supplier capabilities to ensure production output can meet HP demand and business continuity plans (i.e. multiple sourcing, geographic diversity)
- Evaluate supplier product designs, processes and activities for compliance with HP manufacturing guidelines, quality processes and standards
- Support the manufacturing process by ensuring purchased materials are readily available, meet quality requirements and are cost efficient
- Responsible for the qualification of supplier processes and purchased material for conformance to product specification and HP programs (i.e. Social Environmental Responsibility)
- Monitor purchased materials through the product lifecycle
- Communicate and resolve supplier-related production problems as they occur
- Drive supplier improvement and corrective actions plans
- Drive innovation and integration of new supplier technologies and company quality initiatives into product design and manufacturing
- Audit suppliers as appropriate to ensure performance to HP quality objectives
Qualifications
Education and Experience
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical, Mechanical, or Manufacturing Engineering, or equivalent
- Minimum 6-10 year experience
Knowledge and Skills
- LCD panel technology & industry
- Product design: define specifications & product development
- Product qualification & release to mass production
- Quality system & process management
- Factory audits capabilities: process and product manufacturing
- Supplier quality improvement programs
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills; mastery in English and Mandarin
- Ability to effectively communicate plans, proposals, and results to senior management
- Negotiation skills
