Responsibilities
· Functions as a member of the Global Services Organization, addressing technical product questions, resolving technical problems or advising customers on ways to reduce system outage.
· Interact with customers who are of technical leadership or management rank, advising them in crisis situations.
· Poses deep technical knowledge of all Company products in their competencies and in-depth knowledge of several products and/or platforms.
· Possess certifications on Company products within their specialty along with certifications on operating systems, hardware and or network systems. .
Ability to understand and provide high level technical support on Company's Enterprise level products.
Assist technical support with case resolution as needed.
Ability to work at customer location and work align with customer time.
Ability to understand and provide high level technical support on NetBackup and PureDisk operation.
Deliver customized proactive services to assigned BCS customers.
Understand and communicate technical updates on open issues.
Develop strong relationships with internal personnel in all functional areas of Company.
Assist the account team to maintain high customer satisfaction levels.
Available 24x7 on-call for the customer.
Qualification
5+ years experience on UNIX
3+ years in a corporate support environment with previous customer facing experience.
3+ years experience on Company Availability products such as Veritas Volume Manager, Veritas Cluster Server, Veritas File System, Veritas Volume Replicator, Veritas Netbackup, Command Central.
· Min 4 yrs working experience in supporting NetBackup and at least 1 yrs experience in PureDisk or equivalent.
Certified in Company NetBackup products or with equivalent working experience.
· Knowledgeable in Enterprise Vault or Company Storage Foundation product would have advantage.
· Knowledgeable with hands on experience in multivendor storage platforms such as EMC, HDS and HP.
Experience of working in cross platforms server environments.
Some working knowledge of Microsoft Windows Server 2003/2008
3+ years working knowledge of a SAN environment.
Knowledge of server hardware and experience of troubleshooting network problems.
Industry recognized accreditation.
Degree in computer science, engineering, mathematics, or related area.
