The Business Development role is responsible for aligning and solutioning against client needs to drive sales with Nielsen's portfolio of data-driven solutions and applications. You will develop relationships with clients to better understand their needs then leverage that understanding to sell applications within Nielsen China Media that best address those needs. In this role, you will also have the opportunity to partner cross-functionally with Client Service account leads, Product Leadership, Operations, etc. to ensure a cohesive strategy and unified voice to the client. This role requires the ability to understand and synthesize the needs and value proposition of a wide range of clients in FMCG, Auto and other consumer oriented sectors - from marketing and sales business users to more technology-focused decision makers such as analytics and IT.
We are looking for an energetic team player who is client focused and can strategically demonstrate how Nielsen’s data-driven solutions and application ecosystems will add value for our clients. The ideal candidate will be a highly motivated and independent worker with a demonstrated track record of building alignment, creating and growing revenue, and successfully working within a matrix organization to bring the best solutions to our clients.
Responsibilities
· Understand client strategies and position Nielsen Media solutions as integral parts of that vision, and translate client needs into viable solutions leveraging Nielsen China and Global Media capabilities
· Develop a strong understanding of the client’s business and strategic relationships with key decision makers for targeted accounts. This includes demonstrating how the solutions can assist them to achieve their business objectives
· Identify new business opportunities to achieve sales targets and company goals.
· Support the retention of existing business and pursue leads to expand the current client portfolio.
· Manage effectively the sales process through prospect development, proposal, presentation and closing negotiations to achieve company goals.
· Identify opportunities for campaigns, services, distribution channels and partnerships to bring incremental sales.
· Consistently deliver on individual sales targets every quarter.
Qualifications
· 5+ years of experience in China Media/Advertisement industry (e.g. 3rd party data provider, Media agency, Publisher, Advertiser or Martech/ Ad Tech), and in a role which focus or closely related to the data or analytics.
· 2+ years of experience in a revenue-focused Sales role, and with demonstrated record of creating and growing revenue
· Bachelor Degree required
· Ability to work in a matrix type of environment
· Strong knowledge of marketing research, technology, and general business models.
· Track record of successfully up-selling technology or data services.
· Ability to think analytically and leverage available assets to close sales.
· Excellent interpersonal and presentation skills. Must be comfortable presenting to senior executives.
