Position/ Title : Paralegal

Function: Legal

Location of Position: Shanghai


Job Definition:
Supporting trademark attorney in trademark prosecution related matters for VF brands, including application, opposition, cancellation, invalidation, etc.

Key Result Areas:

• Handling of administrative matters related to trademark prosecution:
• Preparing trademark filing documents;
• Support trademark attorney in opposition, cancellation, invalidation, etc;
• Keeping records of all trademark prosecution related proceedings, including correspondence, submissions, official notifications, etc.;
• Trademark database searches and data analysis.

Competency Requirements:

Behavioral Competencies:

• Excellent communication skills in both English and Chinese.
• Strong prioritization and time management skills
• Self-motivated and able to work independently under high pressure and with minimum supervision;
• Good interpersonal and communication skills, high team work spirit.

Functional Competencies:

• Familiar with trademark prosecution time frame, deadlines and procedures
• Proficiency in internet research activities

Experience:
Minimum Relevant Experience: 2 - 3 years experience with knowledge of trademark prosecution and proceedings experience.

Academic Qualifications
Minimum Degree Held: Law degree from PRC law school or foreign institution.
Certifications Required : PRC bar

Language Proficiency
Fluent in : English

Specific Working Conditions
Frequency of Travel: 10%
