Location of Position: Shanghai


Role & Responsibilities:

Job Definition (Key Purpose of the Job) :
Handling trademark prosecution matters for VF brands, including application, opposition, cancellation, invalidation, etc.

Key Result Areas :

• Handling trademark searches and monitoring
• Managing trademark filing, oppositions, cancellations, assignment deeds and other prosecution related matters.
• Collaborating with global IP team in trademark monitoring and prosecution strategy.
• Working with business team to advise on trade mark availability for use or registration;
• Overseeing all procedural details of trade mark prosecution matters

Competency Requirements :

• Excellent communication skills in both English and Chinese.
• Strong analytic skills and the ability to identify and resolve issues quickly and effectively.
• High level of attention to detail and excellent organizational, time management, and prioritization skills
• Ability to work independently or as an enthusiastic team member, with a strong sense of responsibility and follow-through

Functional Competencies:

• Ability of independently managing projects and deadlines
• Familiar with trademark prosecution time frame, deadlines and procedures
• Familiar with trademark prosecution strategy of international brands

Experience:
Minimum Relevant Experience: 6 years or above trademark prosecution practice experience with international law firms. In-house experience is a plus.

Academic Qualifications:
Minimum Degree Held: Law degree from PRC law school or foreign institution.
Certifications Required : PRC bar

Language Proficiency:
Fluent in : English

Specific Working Conditions
Frequency of Travel: 20%
