Responsibilities:
In conjunction with the Lead Civil / Structural Engineer, for the control, co-ordination and quality of engineering activities associated with the design for off shore (outside China) project's civil / structural works, within time and budget constraints, and in accordance with design criteria.
The Civil / Structural Engineer is responsible, in conjunction with the Lead Civil / Structural Engineer to review of Design Institute (Chinese Design house) design for correctness and constructability. Provide project-engineering services as required to satisfy project construction outcomes.
Selection Criteria
Possess a sound knowledge of the Mandarin and English languages both written and spoken
Related Engineering Bachelor degree.
Possess Registered Structural Engineer license (class one).
At least 8 years experience in the design and supervision of civil / structural engineering works for industrial projects
Understands the full range of civil / structural issues relating to the design and construction of large or mid size industrial projects.
Desirable:
Sound construction and quantity survey experience would be a plus.
Experience in engineering consulting in a heavy industrial environment would be an advantage.
Experience in the use of MicroStation techniques in the civil / structural sector would also be a distinct advantage
Special Conditions of Assignment:
Preparedness to travel both inside and outside China to suit project needs, and as required the DG Business Unit.
Civil & Structural Engineer

1) Provide monitoring of the civil construction/structure works;
2) Monitor, review and report on the delivery of projects against the approved execution schedule;
3) Assess quality of work on-site against specifications and relevant Chinese standards;
4) Prepare technical specifications for ground investigations and general civil/structure works;
5) Translate technical specifications and other documentation from design institutes, construction companies and other consultants including construction supervisors;
6) Review technical documents, calculations, specifications, reports and drawings against
