Job Description:
Video streaming is core to Orbit-TV's business. At the heart of Orbit-TV technology is the OTT platform solution running in cloud platform, which serves as the distributed systems foundation for Orbit-TV application development, and powers the movie viewing experience of millions of customers every day.
We are looking for an experienced, talented and motivated DevOps Engineer to work on our OTT platform solution.
What you will do:
- Select, update and manage base Linux machine OS images
- Develop automation tools and services for cloud build, deployment and management
- Work with project teams to automate their build, release and deployment workflow
The skills we require:
- At least five years of Release Engineering or DevOps experience
- Fluent in Linux: Ubuntu, RedHat, CentOS, Fedora
- Knowledgeable in Linux packaging tools: deb, apt, rpm, yum
- Extensive experience with Version Control tools; Perforce and Git experience is a plus
- Understanding of dependency tools and systems: Ivy, Maven, Artifactory
- Experience creating software/scripts to automate routine tasks with at least one of: Groovy, Python, Perl, Shell
- Familiar with the Java platform: Java language and JVM configuration
- Excellent written communication, problem solving, and process management skills
The skills we prefer:
- Prior experience with Amazon EC2/S3 or other cloud service providers is a plus
- Systems deployment and service management automation tools and methodologies
- Experience with build automation systems and tools: Jenkins, Gradle, SBT, Maven, Ant
