Janssen, a member of Johnson & Johnson's Family of Companies, is recruiting for an enthusiastic, innovative, data and analytics focused Statistical Programmer Analyst to join its Statistical Programming and Analysis group, located in Shanghai/ Beijing.

Position description

The Statistical Programmer Analyst is an individual contributor who uses analytic capabilities, techniques, tools and knowledge of data structures to conduct statistical programming activities supporting the exploration, analysis and reporting of clinical data in support of Janssen’s Global Research and Development portfolio.

In addition, the Statistical Programmer Analyst may contribute to departmental innovation and process improvement projects.

Key Responsibilities include

- Designing, developing and performing quality control of statistical programs and in support of clinical research analysis and reporting activities.

- Understanding customer needs and developing data driven solutions.

- Developing innovative analytical approaches to problem solving and using programming languages and tools to support the curation, engineering, profiling, exploration and analysis of clinical research data from diverse sources in support of the Janssen Data Science Strategy.

- Effectively collaborating and communicating within statistical programming and with cross-functional partners to design and implement solutions.

- Completing activities with high quality and timeliness of deliverables and in accordance with departmental processes and procedures.

- Partnering with Therapeutic and Disease area experts from other functions to develop, champion and share cross functional best practices .

- Participating in Regulatory/industry working groups and activities as applicable.

Education

- Bachelor’s or advanced degree (Masters, PhD) and/or equivalent in computer science, mathematics, data science/analytics, or other relevant scientific field e.g. biology/Pharmacology (or equivalent theoretical/technical depth).

- Advanced Degree (Masters, PhD) with a focus on data analytics/sciences is preferred.

Experience and Skills

Required:

- Knowledge of statistical programming languages relevant to data analytics (e.g. SAS, R, Python etc.).

- Strong data literacy with the ability to analyze, interrogate, interpret, engineer and curate data from diverse sources.

- Strong written and verbal communication skills.

- Exceptional problem-solving skills with the ability to understand and communicate complex/technical concepts clearly and concisely.

- Ability to forge strong collaborations and work in teams to achieve business goals.

- Proficiency in spoken and written English.

Preferred:

- Basic knowledge of processes and concepts relevant to Statistical Programming including basic statistical methodologies, programming code development and verification.

- Experience working with Health Research Data

- Basic understanding of Machine learning Concepts (e.g. Time Series of Forecasting, Logistic Regression, Data Mining)
