TITLE: Software Test Engineer
REPORTING TO: Technology and R&D manager
LOCATION: Beijing

I. Purpose of Position

As Veeder-Root's top growth area, Veeder-Root China is building up its engineering R&D team to participate in global product development and customize products for China specific requirements. As software test engineer, the candidate is responsible for developing regression test tools, testing Veeder-Root Software solution for Petroleum Industry.

II. Key Responsibilities

? Identification and reporting of problems in new and existing software. Recreate reported software problems to facilitate solutions. This includes validating the fix for the software problem;
? Designing/writing auto test software tool that simulate the intended use environment of Veeder-Root's products for the purpose of validating software and hardware functionality and its conformance to internal and/or customer requirements;
? Monitoring/Analyzing field test sites for correct operation of new software/hardware features. Provide specialist support to tech support/field to help troubleshoot field problems.
? Contributing to improvements in software development and quality assurance processes ,i.e., development of standard work where appropriate.
? Record and report on the results of tests to facilitate compliance with ISO requirements for documented design verification.
? Coordinating with global test team to on test process improvement, issue update peridically;

III. Relationships

? This position will report directly to the Technology and R&D manager.
? It also requires interaction with developers, testers and technical support engineers from local and global team.
? Some test tasks are linked to teams worldwide and may require continuous interactions for a period of time.
? The position will be interacting external vendors or customers as required

V. Background and Skill

? BS or MS in Computer Science, Automation Control or equivalent education
? 3+ years software test experiences;
? Good knowledge on Test methodology and automation Test;
? Experiences on Linux environment;
? Knowledge/Experience in either of the following areas is a plus:
-- Experiences on either Java, Python;
-- Agile and Scrum software development
-- Object Oriented Design;
-- Automation Test Tool (LoadRunner, etc)
? Good English verbal and written communication skills.
? Technically capable of grasping new concepts quickly
? Self-motivated and a high achiever
