Roles & Responsibilities:

 

• Responsible for quality risk approvals and reviews with all key risk issues properly identified, assessed, and addressed;

• Ensure effective and efficient execution of the risk workflow from assessment, approval, monitoring and account rectification (where required); 

• Responsible for continuous optimization of the risk process reflecting efficiency, quality control, and risk transparency;

• To lead and work with internal and external stakeholders in the continued buildup of the UBSCL Risk Management platform including new business initiatives, policies and controls;

• Responsible for compliance and adherence to regulatory requirements by ensuring that periodic self-assessments are conducted, policies and procedures are in place and reviewed regularly and there are timely and appropriate responses to all regulatory reporting deliverables and requests;

• Adhere to the UBSCL Risk Governance framework by participating in requisite committees and governance forums as the Risk Control representative and to raise and escalate issues on a timely basis as and when necessary;

• To be a strong risk partner to the UBS CL Business and other stakeholders to facilitate the success of the firm;

• Ensure effective stakeholder management including building strong peer and stakeholder relationships;

• Demonstrate the highest standards of integrity and compliance with the UBS Code of Conduct and Ethics and policies;

• To be an effective manager of the Risk team by demonstrating the principles of good line management – to promote development, communicate clearly, inspire others, be mission focused, make effective decisions and embrace innovation.

 

Experience & Skills:

 

• 8-12 years of relevant work experience in the financial industry within a risk control or risk management (credit preferred) capacity

• Good working knowledge of regulatory (CBIRC, PBOC, SAFE) regulations with experience in dealing with regulators;

• Past experience in setting up banking platforms, e.g policy writing, governance and controls establishment would be ideal;

• Good command of both English and Chinese in reading, writing and speaking;

• A university degree; professional qualifications eg CFA, CPA,FRM is a plus.
