– Partner with internal Business Units to cultivate innovative data, analytics, and AI projects 

1. Collaborate with internal Business Units to understand their business needs, gather business requirements, propose and refine solutions based on new and innovative technologies, software, or platform, and deliver value-add POCs 

2. Analyze existing data / analytics / business models within internal Business Units to identify opportunities for improvement in efficiency, process, resources, or generation of valuable business insight

3. Promote and facilitate cross-Business Unit or cross-team project collaborations to synergize ideas and business solutions in order to fundamentally transform and accelerate the drug discovery, development, and manufacturing process

– Manage data solutions data curation and integration and development support

4. Collaborate with IT engineering team to evaluate and develop ontologies to support data integration

5. Working with software engineers and scientists to develop bio-sample curation at source workflows

6. Work with scientists to identify optimal ways to prepare, annotate, store and navigate their datasets

7. Define and document best practices for capturing and entering experimental metadata, and educate scientists and collaborators about these standards

8. Develop a new prototype for open source tools and internal ontology lookup

9. User-acceptance design/testing for BI tools.  

REQUIREMENTS:

? Advanced knowledge of biology (a MSc or PhD degree in life sciences or computational biology and/or experience working in a laboratory environment) is required

? 3+ years experience wrangling (organizing, cleaning and efficiently manipulating) scientific datasets

? Ability to understand scientific literature, experimental procedures and their limitations, and current needs of the research community 

? Ability to work with scientists to elucidate data organization requirements and translate them into written requirements and specifications

? Advanced knowledge of bioinformatics, genomics, and proteomics methods, data structures, and data formats

? Familiarity with controlled vocabularies and ontologies

? Knowledge of biological databases such as GO, KEGG, NCBI, TCGA, UNIPROT, IMGT

? Experience with data quality assessment

? Proficient programming skills in a scripting language/BI tools preferred

? Ability to write and speak in the English language.
