ITLP (Information Technology Leadership Program) background:
As a world-class famous Automobile company, Ford is developing its market strategy in Great China. With the growing of its market share, Ford established its China Headquarter to Shanghai. In order to cooperate with company’s strategic development and new technology, Ford’s IT department is growing it’s “in house” IT & Mobility Platforms & Products (MPP)’ capability and innovating the new IT & MPP strategy. This China headquarter will lead and manage our IT & MPP Services throughout the Great China region.

1st year Role:
In, 2019 April, Ford China announced its new “Ford China 2.0” transformation blueprint with a mission to bring together the “Best of Ford” and the “Best of China.” Ford China 2.0 comprises five key plans and four centers of competence to accelerate the redesign of its business and sharpen its focus on the Chinese market.
The blueprint marks a step change in the Company’s approach to its China business, after it was named a standalone business unit reporting directly to Ford’s global headquarters late last year. The five key plans focus on: accelerating product development and delivery, developing smart technology, deepening strategic partnerships, driving innovation and developing local talent.
The four centers of competence are dedicated to: product, design, innovation and new energy vehicles.
China Mobility Platforms & Product (MPP) department as one of the key technology teams is taking more and more responsibility on “Smart Vehicles” & “Smart Worlds” to support the Ford China 2.0 Strategy. MPP as a global organization includes Connectivity, FordPass platform, Electric vehicle, Autonomous driving, Smart Mobility, Big data etc…
The MPP Strategy Manager position is under China MPP Strategy team, main responsibilities as follows:

The MPP Strategy Manager position is under China MPP Strategy team, main responsibilities as follows:
- Shape the China MPP strategy out of the Ford China 2.0 strategy, especially the technical part
- Establish the strategic technical partnership & tech alliance to accelerating the speed
- Understand the current problems & opportunities within the MPP, identifying right technologies and strategy, also involve such technologies recipes for commercial deployment
- Keep pace with the latest advanced tech landscape, trend and the market status, be able to plug those facts/POV into the proper proposal to continue shape the strategy and technical roadmap
- Be able to lead the POC, prototype to demonstrate the technical feasibility by leveraging cross-functional team, with external partners and vendors
- Understand China MPP plan dependencies with cross MPP teams and other IT teams
- Precisely and consistently captures and articulates business problems and requirements.
- Facilitates agreements on goals/objectives as well as the process to enable business initiatives.
- Build local technical competency to support China specific need in supporting local customer experience and journey.
- Contributes to sourcing and partnership decisions that include IT components.
- Also lead the Innovation for MPP

- Interested in generalist, non-technical IT career path
- Interested in Emerging Areas such as Internet of Things, Vehicle Connectivity, Big Data Analysis, Autonomy Driving and etc
- Interested and self-motivated for an IT global leadership career in Ford
- Interested and able to travel and work overseas

- Proven ability to “own working together” with global IT team and partners

Functional/Technical Skills
- Familiarity with emerging Smart Mobility technology, analytics, and associated security e.g. cloud solution, app development.
- Demonstrated ability to lead governance with strong organization and communication skills
- Ability and enthusiasm to learn “new things” (e.g. 5G, AI, Block China, C-V2X, AV etc…)
- Demonstrated ability to lead resources with technical depth in emerging areas, e.g. Telematics, Analytics, and Application Development.
- Demonstrated business value and requirements management skills.
- Excellent verbal and written presentation skills
