About the role

This role is responsible for licensing ARM technology to nominated ARM system/software and semiconductor partners and growing/managing the partners’ abilities to achieve design wins. 

Developing sound, professional, long-term relationships with management/technical/marketing personnel at the partner is a key role as well as creating, reporting and executing on account strategies. 

Working with the segment marketing managers, strategic alliance managers, FAEs, ARM executives and business units, the Partner Manager will address partner requirements, drive sales revenue, close license contracts and be responsible for the partner account strategy moving forward which will position ARM to maximize revenue as well as position the partner for success with ARM in the marketplace. The Partner Manager is responsible for all business and account management aspects of the partner relationship and is expected to maintain a high level of knowledge of ARM and its products, services and competitors.

 

What will I be accountable for?

 

  • Define and maintain detailed account development plan for nominated partners which covers financial sales goals, strategic target goals and plans to grow partner’s commitment to ARM over time; report weekly on account progress.
  • Map out formal partner business organization and reporting structure, including semiconductor and product development divisions.
  • Develop and own strategic and tactical relationships at management, engineering and marketing levels; gain understanding of informal decision making organization.
  • Negotiate and close contracts for ARM processor and graphic cores, physical IPs, subsystem and fabric, hardware/software tools, application software, SoC services, support services and training.
  • Keep partner staff current on ARM’s products and services; provide training to partner sales and FAE personnel when necessary.
  • Represent partner to ARM and provide feedback to ARM business units, engineering, marketing and management regarding partner technical and business requirements.
  • Facilitate contract deliverables to partners and manage issues that arise.
  • Work with corporate marketing to ensure best visibility of ARM through press release activities.
  • Identify and capture competitive landscape, trends, unit and ASP projections, acquisition activities and other relevant partner information.
  • Gain working knowledge of partner technical and business strengths, target markets

 

What skills, experience and qualifications do I need?

Critical Success Factors:

  • Achievement of financial sales goals and licensing objectives.
  • Development of strong relationships with key personnel at partner accounts.
  • Successful relationship mapping between key customer personnel and identified ARM personnel.
  • Solid knowledge of ARM products, services, schedules and key personnel.

 

Commercial Skills:

  • Working knowledge of partner target markets and applications
  • Able to negotiate and close contracts. 
  • Able to credibly represent ARM to partner. 
  • Able to credibly represent partner requirements to ARM and to motivate ARM to meet these requirements.
  • Good presentation skills; able to present to many levels – management, engineering and executive.

 

Technical Skills:

  • Ten years experiences in sales and marketing. 
  • BS/BA required. 
  • Knowledge of microprocessors (RISC) and systems, SoC designs helpful.
  • Knowledge of networking infrastructure, enterprise and mobile system/SoC architecture and hardware/software helpful.
  • Understanding of ARM cores, physical IPs, tools, boards, applications software, and systems – this can be developed over time.
  • Personal Skills: 
  • Dynamic, self-starting individual who is driven to maintain regular contact with partners.
  • Highly motivated, reliable. 
  • Good interpersonal skills: communication (written and verbal), organized, personable, entrepreneurial, customer focused and customer sensitive, able to motivate team members and co-workers, able to influence, flexible and hard-working.
  • Capable of working as a team player or independently.
  • Able to work and communicate at a detailed or high level.
  • Willing to travel up to 30% of work schedule in the China and to the US/UK.
