As an Embedded SW Architect / Senior SW Engineer, you will be part of the Motion (M) Business and Drives Business Line (BL), based in Beijing. ABB is the World leader in Motion (M) Business offering a wide range of products and services including drives, motors, generators and robots. Key applications include energy conversion, actuation, automation, standardized manufacturing cells for applications such as machine tending, welding, cutting, painting, finishing, palletizing and packing, and engineered systems for the automotive industry.

You will contribute significantly to successful project results in projects in Drive Products Product Group/ Drives Business Line (BL)/ Motion (M) Business, Beijing /China country/NAS region. You will work independently while collaborating with, and providing guidance to, the wider R&D team.

- Member of Drive FW team in the development department, reporting to the R&D FW team leader.
- Concept design in the Embedded FW architecture development for new product.
- Mentor to FW designers in the team.
- Develop embedded FW for the Drive products.
- Leverage best-practice software engineering processes, utilizing appropriate tools.
- Provide debugging support for existing designs ensuring prompt rectification of problems.

- University Degree, major in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical/Electronic or Automation Engineering (Master’s Degree is preferred).
- More than 5 years of work experience.
- Experience in design and development knowledge about Industrial products (handling and programming) is a must.
- Expertise in embedded system architecture design and with development on real-time operation system is required.
- Coding with common software programming languages, C and C++ is a must.
- Experience with development on real-time operation system.
- Strong software development background, familiar with all aspects of the software development life cycle.
- Industrial motor and motor control related knowledge is preferred.
- Understanding of Drive related industrial applications is an added advantage.
- Has experience on IoT and solutions of industrial automation system connectivity is a plus.
- Good at other programming languages, such as C#, Python.
- Willing to travel frequently on business work.
- Excellent English communication skills.
