As an AME Engineer, you will be part of the Motion (M) Business and Motors and Generators Business Line (BL), based in Shanghai. ABB is the World leader in Motion (M) Business offering a wide range of products and services including drives, motors, generators and robots. Key applications include energy conversion, actuation, automation, standardized manufacturing cells for applications such as machine tending, welding, cutting, painting, finishing, palletizing and packing, and engineered systems for the automotive industry.

You will drive improvements throughout production in Large Motors & Generators Product Group/ Motors and Generators Business Line (BL)/ Motion (M) Business in Shanghai /China country/NAS region. Reporting to the AME Manager, your focus will be on optimizing the manufacturing process through innovation in a cost-effective way.

- Prepare SOP and process quality control documents and ensure that the contents specified in the documents are not separated from the production practice, clear and easy to understand, and can be effectively realized in the production process and achieve the desired effect.
- Prepare the tooling or equipment required for the new product within the specified time. On the premise of ensuring the safety of operation, the existing tooling structure is constantly optimized to increase versatility, reduce cost, reduce labor intensity and improve work efficiency.
- According to the requirements from APQA, actively participate in the research and development of new products, and timely prepare effective process (such as instructions, PFMEA, etc.) and process quality control documents.
- Lead the temporary occurrence of important quality or technical problems on site, go deep into the site, continuously promote the solution of problems, resume production as soon as possible, and ensure delivery.
- Track and count the process quality or technical problems that have been confusing the production (or customer site) for a long time, use common quality tools, plan effective investigation and verification tests, and conduct in-depth implementation on site, so as to ultimately solve these problems and improve process quality. And accurately record and file the resolution process.
- Prepare and effectively implement the process discipline audit plan. For each audit, there should be an objective and accurate report.
- Be able to correctly understand and use PDCA, lean production and six sigma and other continuous improvement tools to improve process capability, reduce waste and improve output in the responsible area.
- Master the project management skills and manage new production introduction through training.
- Provided technical support for some other departments like front-end sales, customer complaints, supply chain and project management to improve internal and external customer satisfaction.

- Bachelor’s Degree or above.Mechanical major but master motor theory is a plus.
- Proficient in IEC, NEMA and other motor industry standards is also preferred.
- 3+ years of working experience, motor, electrical, mechanical background.
- Good drawing and reading skills.
- Familiar with electrical design manual and international standards.
- Proficient in CAD & Office.
- Engaged in large and medium-sized motor design and technology is preferred. Experienced in motor insulation and NPI Project Management is a plus.
- Good understanding in TS16949, six sigma quality system and tools is preferred.
- Master lean production concepts and tools is an added advantage.
- Good in execution, planning, teamwork and communication.
- Fluent in written and oral in Mandarin and English.
