Systems Programmer: Mainframe z/OS System Specialist

Job description

The role is z/OS system programmer who will responsible for z/OS platform support of IBM Clients'

zSeries mainframe server. Job responsibilities includes but not limit to:

1. Maintain z/OS and program product reliability, availability and performance.

2. Perform z/OS and program product upgrade / migration.

3. Maintain z/OS and program product integrity and compliance to IBM policy.

4. Trouble-shooting for z/OS and program product related incident and problem, and provide Root Cause Analysis and solutions.

5. Support zSeries or Storage systems hardware upgrade and data migration.

6. Pro-actively initialize service optimization for IBM Client's z systems.

7. Administrate storage systems for z/OS, e.g. IBM Total Storage/DS8K series, IBM TAPE systems/TS7700 series.

8. Configure and maintain z/OS data management policy for Backup / Migration and Tape library.

9. Plan and manage capacity for system resource: CPU / Memory / DASD / Tape.

10. Produce SLA and Performance reports to account team.

11. Plan and implement DR solution for client.

12. Initialize or involve in projects required for Client's IT environment.

13. Co-work with various IBM support teams for problem solving or project implementation.

14. 24x7 on call support.

Expertise Requirements:

1. Solid understanding for z/OS architecture and components.

2. Proven skills on z/OS installations, SMPE, ISPF, JES2, SDSF, SMS, VSAM, CATALOG, JCL.

3. Proven knowledge on usage of z/OS tools: IDCAMS, ICKDSF, RMM, CA1, TLMS.

4. Programming skills with REXX, CLIST, COBOL, JAVA will be an advantage.

5. Proven skills on 3rd-Party products for z/OS, such as CA, BMC will be preferred.

Experience Requirements:

1. Bachelor's Degree, prefer with Information, Technology or computing science major.

2. At least 4+ years proven working experience on zSeries platform.

3. Good written and verbal English.

4. Good interpersonal skills.

5. Self-motivated and able to work independently
