Principal Responsibilities:

· Monitor and manage project schedule progress and institute corrective action to ensure project completion to contract schedule dates.

· Monitor and manage project costs and take action to ensure that project costs are maintained within budget.

· Ensure Nordberg standards and quality are maintained

· Ensure management are informed of potential cost or project schedule overruns



Missions and Tasks:

· Receive project contract, scope of supply and project cost files for pre negotiated and pre sold turnkey projects.

Arrange and conduct a pre project commencement meeting (Kick off Meeting) with the customer to

Verify and clear contract scope of supply

Verify specific contract provisions or exclusions

Introduce project staff and responsibilities

Establish project lines of communication

· Institute and monitor the engineering detail design process to ensure that engineering design conforms to contract specification and project schedule.

· Revue pricing and delivery for in house equipment supply and initiate order process

· Arrange for pre qualification and selection of sub contractors for all local or out sourced segments of the project and the issue of contracts to successful tenderers.

· Institute QA and QC standards in accordance with Nordberg specifications for all aspects of local supply and out sourced equipment

· Establish and maintain a detailed project schedule to encompass all segments of the project indicating planned and actual progress.

· Monitor project progress in all segments and institute corrective action to ensure project completion to project schedule.

· Inform Vice President Systems of potential cost and project schedule overruns

· Provide a shipping list of plant equipment with key on site delivery dates along with specific packing instructions to the Logistics Department.

· Prepare and institute a project safety plan ensuring conformity with local regulations and procedures.

· Manage the erection supervision and the coordination of sub contract activities for all site works.

· Co ordinate the commissioning and performance testing of all plant and equipment in accordance with contract scope.

· Process local permits or authorities directly related to Nordberg project activities.

· Prepare and submit milestone certificates to the client to support claims for progress payment.

· Arrange by way of agenda and conduct regular meetings with in house departments to monitor progress to equipment delivery stage

· Arrange by way of agenda and conduct a regular project meeting with the customer or his representatives to review and inform project progress and factors effecting the work schedule.

· Provide minutes of meetings for signature by both parties.

· Prepare and submit a monthly project report on project status to the client and Nordberg Vice President Systems.

· Determine variations to contract for both client contract and sub contractor.

· Prepare variation and/or claims documentation.

· Submit and negotiate claims to settlement

· Monitor actual costs against project budgeted cost and take action to ensure project costs are, at minimum contained to budget.

· Authorize claims for payment by sub contractors.

· Authorize expenditure and claims for site, and site management personnel

· Institute relative insurance cover for all aspects of the project



Requirement

· Academic background: Engineering degree from a leading University

· A recognized qualification in minerals processing would be considered an asset

· Experience: Minimum 4-6 years of mining or construction experience in mainland China, preferably working for a western industrial organization.t

· Knowledge of Metso Minerals equipment and product base considered a key asset,

· Language skills: Proficiency in Chinese and English essential.

· PC skills: Proficiency in Excel, Power Point, Word AutoCad, MS Project
