Quality Manager

POSITION OBJECTIVE:
Develop, implement and manage quality control systems for our ADS drilling machines (consistent with established standards, customer specifications and production goals). Supervise a team of supplier quality engineers, incoming inspection personnel, in-process & final inspection quality personnel including test team.

PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
Manage team of quality personnel to help ADS Nanjing in their goal to produce "world class' product.
Develop realistic & obtainable quality goals for and ensure actions are being taken to achieve these goals.
Train sourcing quality engineers to develop suppliers to be "world class', and to ensure supply base meets or exceeds ISO and EHS requirements to maintain sustainability.
Collaborate with engineering, purchasing and production teams to ensure adequate quality specifications are provided to suppliers to meet part quality expectations.
Coordinate with engineering and production teams to add more value at the supply base that includes providing parts ready for final assembly.
Help supplier quality organization to perform audits including quality process checks, welding & machining process verifications and calibration of machines and testing equipment as required.
Ensure a high level of internal and external customer service. Investigate and correct customer issues and complaints relating to quality.
Supervise workers engaged in inspection and testing activities to ensure high productivity and high technical integrity.
Develop and analyze statistical data and product specifications to determine standards and to establish quality and reliability expectancy of finished products.
Provide technical and statistical expertise to teams.
Formulate, document and maintain quality control standards.
Coordinate objectives with production procedures in cooperation with other departments to maximize product reliability and minimize costs.
Create, document and implement inspection criteria and procedures.
Interpret quality control philosophy to key personnel within Company.
Provide, and oversee inspection and activity for product throughout production cycle.
Apply total quality management tools and approaches to analytical and reporting processes.
Interact and help develop suppliers to ensure quality of all purchased components.
Maintain active role on internal Kaizan or Continuous improvement teams.
Design, develop and implement quality control training programs.
Supporting the Sourcing Manager and Localization Project Manager with supplier assessment and approval (Ensuring suppliers comply with company's Quality, Environmental and Social standards).
Managing Customer Complaints and Claims in accordance with the Quality Manual (ensuring quick response to customers and proper corrective and preventive action)
Prepare monthly and weekly reports as directed.

Problem Solving:
Review future product designs for possible quality related issues, including measurement constraints, failure mode possibilities, etc.
Good working knowledge of root cause analysis and helping team overcome gaps.
Systematic analysis of quality system and processes.
Strong leadership skills are necessary to work with local engineering, production and purchasing teams.
Quality orientation and high attention to detail.

Knowledge:
Must have manufacturing knowledge and understand parent vs. child relationship on component structure subassemblies.
Working knowledge of production and quality systems.
Computer knowledge of; MS Access, Excel, Word and PowerPoint.
Background in manufacturing techniques including machining and fabrication, ability to read engineering drawings, and effective communication skills. Requires strong writing, administrative and analysis skills.
Kaizen and Lean Manufacturing techniques.
Need understanding of the 5 key quality tools (APQP, FMEA, MSA, SPC, and PPAP)

Formal Education Requirement:
BS in Engineering or Business.
Solid knowledge of manufacturing processes, LEAN Manufacturing, Kanban, Kaizan and 5S.
Fluency in written and spoken English required.

Minimum Years of Experience Necessary:
10 years experience as a Quality Manager or Quality Supervisor role.

Must be able to communicate effectively with all levels of the organization and across all functions of the organization. This job can be very stressful and the successful candidate must be able to maintain composure under very difficult circumstances.
Must be willing to travel 25% of the time.
Job will be located in Nanjing.
