About the role
This role as part of the Marketing team, He/She will be required to understand the global brand positioning of Gap, Gap Outlet and Old Navy brands and can balance that understanding with the needs of the local market. He/She should have the ability to discern what types of events and mall marketing resources will support /enhance the positioning, giving the Brand a competitive advantage in the marketplace.
He/She is responsible for understanding the seasonal produce messages to help concept seasonal retail event ideas and execution variety type of events, for example roadshow and instore event. He/She is responsible for working with Landlords in special support from mall to help drive extra traffic to our stores.
The candidate will partner with the domestic Marketing team, key internal business partners and cross-functional teams, and external marketing agencies or strategic partnership as appropriate.
What you'll do
- Actively develops strategy/ demonstrates strategic
thinking in building annual plans and timelines throughout the year - Sources and selects event agencies and various
production vendors in execution of events and customer appreciation
activities - Responsible for working with Real Estate team and individual
mall/ store landlords for securing support(e.g. ad space or promotional
activity) for new stores - Responsible for working with internal teams and
external agencies on creation and execution of store hoardings prior to
their openings - Negotiates costs in production and execution of events
and mall marketing to ensure that all is within budget - Works closely with Store Operations and Field to ensure
that store engagement and mall marketing resources are executed flawlessly
and consistently across the fleet - Responsible for developing traffic driving programs on
the store level that align with overall market promotional plans, are
brand appropriate, and also motivating for the target customer - Works with line manager in development of launch event
strategy and concept of brand entry events and activities - Owns all aspects of execution for brand entry events
and activities into key markets - Develops and executes guerilla marketing ideas to
support business objectives and needs to bring awareness and buzz for Gap,
Gap Outlet and Old Navy in brand appropriate ways - Aggressively manages budgets on all event activities
whilst maintaining high standards
Who you are

cross-functional teams and complicated projects. - Influence: Ability to influence across the
organization, including senior management. - Communication: Strong oral and written communication
skills. - Analysis: Strong analytical and research skills,
combined with sound business judgment. - Creativity: Ability to generate creative ideas from
analysis. - Consumer Insight: Ability to be the “voice of the
consumer”. - Brand: An understanding of the Gap inc. brands
(including aesthetic and taste level). - Relationships: Proven experience and ability to work
cross-functionally - Intellectual Horsepower: Ability to apply strategic
thinking to Brand Marketing and business results. - Cultural: An ability to interact with people in
different cultures in a way that promotes understanding, and is respectful
and effective. - Language: Chinese (mandarin) & English language
and/or knowledge of Chinese culture and consumer behavior in Mainland/Hong
Kong/ Taiwan would be highly advantageous. - Passion: For Retail!
- Bachelor degree
- 5+ years of Event Management, Consumer or Retail
Marketing experience, preferably in consumer packaged goods, retail or
cosmetics. - Excellent project leadership is a plus!
