Primary Function
Consults to ensure that high quality products are designed, engineered and manufactured by Agilent, in conformance with customer requirements, required standards and regulations. Develops and implements quality initiatives to improve the organization’s core business processes and to influence the development of a customer-centered organization. May maintain Quality Management System (e.g., ISO9000) and support Quality Management System (QMS) improvement projects. May provide expertise, training and/or consulting in Quality processes and methods to build and maintain a customer oriented quality culture. May direct the work of third parties such as vendors, product partners, etc. to meet contract specified deliverables, performance or business objectives.

Disciplines:
• Quality Engineering: Provides engineering guidance, expertise and services to ensure process, data and product quality. Leads and drives improvements and provides specialist quality-related services to R&D, manufacturing engineering, production, procurement and others. Develops, implements and evaluates tools and equipment for quality assurance and for product/process improvement and conformance. Reviews product and process quality data to explore process improvement opportunities.
Metrologist: Provides engineering guidance and evaluation of measurement technique suitability utilizing the uncertainty of the measurement. Responsible for applying international metrology standards (i.e., GUM) in solving measurement uncertainty problems. Responsible for representing international quality standards (e.g., ISO/IEC 17025, ISO 9000) in guiding Agilent organizations. Provides interface between Agilent’s customers or vendors and Agilent on metrology issues.
• Product Regulation and Compliance: Develops and implements programs and processes to ensure that Agilent products are safe, legal and meet or exceed customer expectations for compliance with national/regional/global regulations. Maintains updated information about national/regional/global regulatory requirements being applied to products. Proactively manages the changing regulation environment for Agilent products, prevents barriers to trade, eliminates duplication of effort and avoids regulatory surprises. Responds to customers and/or authorities requests/inquiries dealing with regulations and product compliance. Represents Agilent in external bodies dealing with standards and/or product regulations at the national/regional/global level.
