Job Summary:
The Credit Manager is responsible for overseeing the extension of credit and management of Accounts Receivable with the purpose of maximizing revenue and liquidity while minimizing bad debt expense.
Relationships:
Reports to the NAM Credit Manager or Regional Credit Manager NAM Credit Manager reports to the NAM SSO Finance Manager and functionally to the Area Controller 0-10 direct reports
Essential Responsibilities and Duties:
? Evaluate customer credit worthiness by use of internal and external credit reports.
? Regular follow-up on assigned accounts to assure timely collection of accounts receivable in line with corporate and personal objectives.
? Input notes and Commentary in GetPaid to allow others access to the assigned credit manager’s insight and experience on assigned accounts.
? Responsible for DSO objectives for assigned accounts and overall Area objectives as set by management.
? Ensure compliance to credit policy and code of ethics.
? Periodic review of customer base and adjustment of customer credit limits as needed.
? Foster a professional collaborative relationship with Sales and Operations to resolve matters that impact billings, receivables and liquidity.
? Identify delinquent accounts and initiate appropriate legal action for recovery of outstanding balances including filing of M&M liens, suits for collection, etc. ? Recommend establishment of reserves on delinquent accounts regarded as uncollectible, or writing off of these accounts.
? Maintain appropriate financial analysis skills in order to review financial statements (balance sheets, income statements of existing and potential customers to support the credit exposure
? Co-ordinate with third parties (lawyers, Bankruptcy trustees, agents) for litigation and collection of delinquent accounts.
? Understands, reviews, implements, complies and assists with development of Sarbanes Oxley requirements as defined in the risk control matrix.
? May participate in centralized recruiting events, eg career fairs, first/second interviews, etc.
? Complies with applicable company policies, including Personnel, Quality System and Health, Safety and Environment standards and procedures.
? Successfully complete required safety training (including but not limited to drugs and alcohol, electrical, emergency response, fire, first aid, health and hygiene, PPE, SIPP, risk reporting, IT security, hazardous materials, driving).
Previous Experience and Competencies:
Degree from an accredited college or university.
5 years Credit Management experience with increased levels of responsibility.
