Job Description:
1. Proofreading and editing English language news articles according to the requirements set out by the International Business Department.
2. Ensure accuracy and correctness of information by liaising with writers and other editors, as well as ensure readability of news from a native English language speaker's point of view.
3. Help establish protocols and guidelines in proofreading and editing news, and provide general advice to writers and other editors.
4. Help improve overall efficiency and timeliness in daily news production.
5. Become familiar with financial news pertaining to the Chinese market, aid in other ad hoc projects as required.
Requirements:
1. Bachelor's degree or above, major in English, Journalism, Communication, Finance, Economics or related majors. 2. Prior experience with international financial news reporting and media or related work experience preferred.
3. Possess general awareness and acumen for financial news, have good understanding of the financial markets and global macroeconomics, able to think independently.
4. Experience and familiarity with Bloomberg, Reuters, and other well known international financial news media.
5. Basic understanding of Chinese is preferred or a willingness to learn.
6. Detail oriented, patient, with a high level of responsibility and reliability; ability to communicate effectively and work well within a team environment.
7. Passion for media, finance, securities and economics related subjects.
