As a Senior Customer Quality Engineer, you will be part of the Motion (M) Business and Drives Business Line (BL), based in Beijing. ABB is the World leader in Motion (M) Business offering a wide range of products and services including drives, motors, generators and robots. Key applications include energy conversion, actuation, automation, standardized manufacturing cells for applications such as machine tending, welding, cutting, painting, finishing, palletizing and packing, and engineered systems for the automotive industry.

You will be at the heart of driving a quality culture within Drive Products Product Group/ Drives Business Line (BL)/ Motion (M) Business in Beijing/China country/NAS region. You will be managing quality as seen from the customers’ perspective. In this position you have an opportunity to apply your expertise on solving interesting customer cases arising all around different industries. You are working in close cooperation with our end customers, product engineers and suppliers, being based in Beijing.

? Actively follow our customers’ quality experience based on statistical data, communication with our global engineering team, sales network and customers directly.
? Failure analysis of challenging field failure cases including root cause analysis.
? Independently find out the root cause of the significant cases which have great impact on product quality or customer, with focus on cases where deep product knowledge is needed.
? Collect and investigate the failure background, and based on failure symptom, design and carry out the test plan, find out the root cause.
? Test and analyze failed modules returned from customer field, utilize systematic tools to record analysis findings, feedback to Product Responsible Engineer.
? Compile professional failure analysis reports.
? Utilize the failure analysis platform to do statistical analysis and find out the weak point of product and analyze the cause, finally propose action to improve the quality.
? Develop the related tools & test methods.
? Analyze and monitor component/PCBA failures, to find out root cause and support Product Responsible Engineer to figure out corrective actions, write test/analysis report to summarize supplier’s quality.
? Support competence development of the team members in the field of failure and root cause analysis.

? Bachelor’s Degree or M.Sc. , major in Electrical Engineering or another relevant field
? A few years’ work experience with Drives.
? Strong understanding of drive technology, as well as the ability to build test set-ups by utilizing drives & PLCs, make different kind of measurements with data collection.
? Comprehensive understanding of electrical circuits schematics and applications wiring diagrams.
? Familiar with electrical equipment and tools, strong awareness of safety.
? In-detail failure analysis competence and capability to train failure analyses methods for engineering team members and external partners.
? Ability to create and analyze statistical data using MS Excel, PowerPivot, Power BI and Minitab.
? Ability to drive things forward independently as well as working effectively in a team.
? Ability to communicate directly with customers by face to face interaction and written reports.
? Fluent in English and Chines communication and documentation skills.
