The Diagnostic Engineering team is responsible for CPU, APU and dGPU IP functional, system, and stress diagnostics. We are seeking an experienced engineer to deliver diagnostics which test the industry leading high-performance power management subsystem.  

 

Key Responsibilities:

·         Develop power management test strategy and comprehensive test plans with the IP design team

·         Develop power management related diagnostics software to verify power features in both pre-silicon environment (FPGA, C-Model, Palladium) and post-silicon system (real ASIC and platform)

·         Identify and help resolve ASIC, board and software stack issues to enable IP features, provide diagnostics support to external customers and internal engineering teams

·         Deliver targeted stress tests for AMD System Level Test (SLT) manufacturing test

·         Forward thinker to improve development processes, code quality and HW coverage, and drive innovation

 

Experience:

·         Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical/Computer Engineering or equivalent

·         Strong mix of large-scale software development ability and hardware understanding

·         Proficient in C++ programming on medium to large code repository

·         Sophisticated programming skills in Perl or Ruby is a plus

·         Familiar with X86 architecture and related Bus/technologies, i.e. ACPI, PMIC, Clocks, Regulator, etc.

·         Familiar with Linux, knowledge and experience of device driver or firmware development is required

·         Familiar with Windows internals, knowledge and experience of driver/kernel is a plus

·         Hands-on experience with any one of board bring up, power management, PCI-E, and DDR/GDDR memories is preferred

·         Strong debugging and testing skills

           Strong communication skills
