Job Description and Key Accountabilities:

Mergermarket is a business development tool designed specifically for the M&A sector and provides proprietary intelligence and analysis on corporate strategy across the world. Part of the product consists of a historical database of global mergers & acquisitions (M&A) maintained on a daily basis by a team of research analysts. The research analyst will be responsible for doing secondary research and analysis on post-M&A deals. 

Main duties and responsibilities include:

• Performing desktop research on real-time M&A transactions
• Interpreting financial data and other financial information in relation to M&A and Private Equity transactions
• Quality checking the historical database to ensure it reflects and provides a consistent high standard of data for active private equity firms in Asia
• Analyzing specific transactions to determine whether they meet the database inclusion criteria
• Cleaning and updating the database to ensure that deal records, company records and individual profiles are accurate and comprehensive
• Tracking and updating a specific universe of private equity firms in terms of their activity.

Required skillsets:

• Strong knowledge of Accounting / Financial Concepts 
• Basic knowledge of Mergers, acquisition, Joint Ventures, Amalgamation, Capital Market, Balance Sheet Ratios, Private Equity, Equity and Fixed Income markets
• Keen interest in Secondary Research, M&A/Corporate Finance
• Excellent communication skills in English and Chinese. Other Asian language is a plus.
• Attention to detail
• Ability to interpret data and aid in arriving at the key findings
• Awareness on Daily updates on Current Affairs, Real Time News, etc
• Proficient in MS Office
