Do you want to save the time for half a billion population by improving the performance of most widely used software? Do you love to improve the performance of the Windows by systematically tuning memory usage pattern and binary image layout? The Windows Fundamentals team has a performance team in ATC Beijing and our mission is to increase the responsiveness, footprint and energy efficiency of Windows by providing memory usage analysis and profile guided optimization throughout Windows. Engineers in the team build up deep knowledge of OS memory management and compiler level optimization. The team is responsible for managing optimization training process, memory performance analysis and related tools development.
In this role, you would be expected to drive scenario based training process with discipline and patience, and use the profile to guide the compiler level optimization. You are also responsible to deep analyze the performance problems exposed in our benchmark or coming from real world. You will also be involved in the design, implementation and testing of new innovative tools that help visualize and identify the memory performance root causes from vast amount of trace data. Performance work is an opportunity to strengthen architecture, design and development skills, apply CS fundamentals, and build area expertise, while having a significant impact on critical aspects of the Windows. You will have the opportunity to collaborate with other Windows feature teams and other key partner teams within Microsoft.
Qualified candidates should have coding skills in C/C++/C# and script, good experience in test automation development, passion for quality, passion for learning operating system internals and compiler level optimization, exceptional problem solving abilities, and good communication skill. This position is located in Beijing China.
