It understands the data on the internet and know how the information are related to each other, this enables you to find the answers to your questions directly instead of having to browse through pages of documents returned by matching keywords in the query as you do with search engine today.
The Bing Information Platform team is working hard towards the goal of understanding and harnessing the world knowledge on the web to enable these scenarios possible. Our mission is to understand and connect data on the internet and to surface the information in most relevant way to users. In addition to providing these data through the Bing website, we also work closely with major product teams across Microsoft to bring the delightful experience to our customers.
We are looking for self-motivated candidates who enjoy working with and analyzing large amount of data. They must have strong technical background in multiple of the following areas: o data mining and data analysis o machine learning o applied statistics o knowledge representation o database knowledge Responsibilities include: 1. Project Management: Work with the developer lead to define project plans, timelines, and deliverables; ensure the features are delivered on time conforming to a very high quality bar; communicate plans, progress, issues and updates to the key stakeholders. 2. Produce detailed feature specifications, coordinate development program schedules across several component teams and drive the release of the technologies through successive product cycles 3. Identify, recommend, and implement solutions to streamline modeling process Qualifications: - 6+ years experience in shipping high quality software - Strong data mining background and exceptional aptitude for quickly coming up to speed and mastering complex technical topics - Ability to think through an entire problem identifying symptoms and the root cause - Strong customer empathy, good at understanding customer requirements and can transfer such knowledge into the engineering process - Proven experience in managing cross-group collaboration and building cross-team relationships - Excellent verbal and written communication skill in English - BS/MS degree in computer science preferred.
