The Operator Channels (OC) business, reporting to the Consumer Channel Group, is dedicated to driving and elevating Microsoft’s relationship with Operators across the world. With Operator Channels, Microsoft is placing a strategic emphasis on Operators as key go-to-market partners for Microsoft software, services and devices for share gain in Phone, TV, and Windows devices as well as Consumer and Business Cloud Services. In short, Operator Channels is directly responsible for how Microsoft makes this happen across the world’s top Operators, and this Client Director position will help execute on this how.
The Client Directors are the catalyst and driving force to align business goals between Microsoft and our partners around executive alignment, strategic planning, business development, sales and marketing with major Operators in the global markets.
We are increasing our focus and resources on China Mobile. This role will need to understand the partner’s business goals, plans and execute a broader strategy that not only supports their business ambitions but also helps them accelerate them. This role needs to be both aspirational in the long term and results focused in the short term, creating long term platform, environment and relationships for mutual growth. The successful candidate will create the strategy and through the management of direct and indirect resources to deliver it.
Responsibilities:
- As the Client Director you will be responsible for not only building on the existing relationship but also to establishing Microsoft as an essential, respected technology and business partner during the next phase of significant growth and expansion for the partner. Your primary role is to engage directly with the Partner to develop, drive and expand the total partner business. A solid experience and background in Operator/Cable is essential. The position requires that the candidate is forward-thinking, strategic and professional in order to develop strategic sales activities with the partner. We are looking for a visionary senior leader who can build a strong, successful relationship at all levels in the partner organization and a distinctive spirit of collaboration.
- You are responsible for creating plans to accomplish this by delivering not only on the partner goals but through the creation of new business revenue opportunities and objectives, primarily achieved through deeper relationships and activities with the partner and a thorough understanding of their business and goals.
- This position requires focus on all functions and levels within the Partner, such as pre-development, development, production, marketing and sales. Your success will be evaluated based on successful development and sales execution of Microsoft products, services, partner satisfaction and executive engagement and relationships. Therefore you will be responsible for communicating and landing the Microsoft product strategy, managing executive relationships and executing regular customer briefings and quarterly business (and technical) reviews.
Experience & Education Required:
Strong analytical skills:
- The ability to analyze Microsoft market partner opportunities.
Strong interpersonal skills:
- The ability to interact appropriately and influence C-level management in the Partner.
- Well-rounded business and successful sales and partner with experience.
- Someone who can act as a “player & coach”, as this position requires management of a small team combined but also hands on work
- Self-starter
- Knowledge of the Operator/Cable industry is essential
- 10+ year’s progressive experience in technology solutions sales, marketing, and/or management.
Qualifications Recommended:
- Excellent business analysis, communication, planning, presentation, and executive-level sales and relationship skills are essential
- MBA preferred
- BA/BS degree in Business, Marketing, Engineering or related field is required
