ITID (Information Technology Infrastructure Delivery)

  

Within HSBC Operations, Services and Technology, ITID implements and manages the IT infrastructure and supporting services that are critical to day-to-day operations for HSBC customer and user IT services, ensuring that issues are identified and resolved quickly to provide optimum levels of service with sufficient capacity, resilience and security. The division provides optimized and cost efficient hardware, system software, middleware and databases in support of the services that are delivered from its data centers over both voice and data networks to desktops and other end-user devices throughout our business.

  

 

  

We are currently seeking an experienced professional to join the ITID team as Technical Service Manager – Server   

  

 

  

Primary responsibility is to provide support on the Linux, Windows infrastructure, database platform and middleware, ensuring customer delight as per the defined size, effort and schedule confirming to quality standards and best practices. Maintain and improve SLA-s and ensure compliance to HSBC policies at all times. Actively participate to achieve organization objectives for efficiency. Perform pro-active analysis on day-to-day work to obtain automation on deliveries thereby reducing repetitive and standardized tasks/processes.

  

- Provide the technical support within the agreed Service Levels

  

- Sustainably assist and drive infrastructural projects including but not limited to procurement, humanity, etc.

  

- Meet the delivery standards as per the agreement that includes quality of deliverables, documentation Status communication and timely reporting.

  

- Interact with application teams and other infrastructure teams.

  

- Work with regions for MIRs and SIPs

  

- Maintain support records such as incident resolutions

  

- Understanding of functional requirements and translation of business requirements into technical specifications.

  

- Participate in crisis calls as applicable.

  

- Proactively identify problem situations and resolve to give maximum customer satisfaction.

  

- Escalation used only where necessary, appropriate measures are taken to improve and sustain high quality and prevent recurrence.

  

- Demonstrate analytical and problem management skills.

  

- Should be excellent team member and work as a cross-functional team member and liaise with Vendors to resolve hardware issues.

  

- Meet the delivery standards as per the agreement that includes quality of deliverables and documentation.

  

- Ability to establish mutual expectations with Business Partners is required. Ensuring that the processes are adhered.

  

- Suggest process enhancement.

  

- Brainstorm with team leaders and peers on emerging technology trends, constantly question, clarify from teams and ensure that critical technology issues are surfaced and considered.

  

- Act as a buddy to the new joiners and junior colleagues to help them settle and take up work in the project.

  

 

  

 

  

To be successful in the role, you should meet the following requirements:

  

 

  

- 36 to 60 Months of experience in OS, WAS, MQ, IT Infrastructure

  

- Admin and troubleshooting Skills of Linux, such as RHEL, Ubuntu, SUSE and Windows Servers, and the system management tool on these open systems.

  

- Ability to work effectively as a team player

  

- Good Communication and interpersonal skills

  

- Banking domain experience will be added advantage.

  

- Experience with standard change, incident and problem management process.

  

- Willingness to work in 24x7x365 IT environment including on-call rotation, weekend work, etc.

  

- Must be able to perform well as a member of a larger team.

  

- Ability to establish mutual expectations with clients is required. Ensuring that the processes are adhered to.

  

- Excellent oral and written communication skills (English) are critical for success in this job.

  

- Must be motivated, and able to manage multiple tasks.
