Objective of Position:
· Responsible for all activities related to conceptualizing and implementing sales strategy to achieve targets and support company objectives.
· Position BASF's Crop Protection business as a respected leading player in the China crop protection industry with a clear focus on adding value to farmers
· Lead, develop and form a strong sales team as a basis for long-term success
· Develop and implement Go-To-Market Strategy to meet customer needs and drive sales growth
· Establish sales targets to meeting company objectives and partner with other related management teams, e.g. marketing, supply chain, product development to ensure the best possible services and effective communications to end users
Responsibility:
Strategy development:
· Develop & implement Country Strategy and Operational Plans with a clear alignment of targets, measures and resources in alignment with the regional and global Crop Protection Strategy
· Monitoring of sales and marketing strategies, policies, tactic and plans, pricing structure, target account, resources necessary to achieve the agreed sales goals by utilizing the outputs of analyses on market intelligence and current and future competitiveness in products/product applications/pricing/services..
· Direct the activities and lead the process to develop and penetrate markets with new or existing products/services/technologies by overseeing the implementation of define strategies.
· Develop channel model to serve different customer segments.
P&L Management:
· Prepare the budget and oversee the expenditure in the allocated area to ensure demand creation and channel promotion activities are conducted with cost effectiveness.
· Realize the targeted financial performance focusing on product on-ground development.
· Participate in the formulation of business plan to optimize profitability through product/customer mix analyses, e.g. consolidation and rationalization of cost control, sales volume, etc.
Maintain customers relationship:
· Spend quality time with key farmers and retailers to develop deep market and business insight and create business opportunities.
· Establish professional relationships with distributors, large volume customers and other potential customers of large sales prospects, as necessary, to negotiate or lead negotiation of large sales.
· Plan and oversee the management of distribution channels, policies, distributor services, including analyses on the effectiveness and recommend changes as needed.
· Represent BASF's Crop Protection business to customers, Crop Life, authorities and business partners
People and function management:
· As a Management team member, contribute to and support the management team to drive business unit performance
· Foster a high-performance culture guided by a strong vision that focuses on farmers
· Build, organize and develop a strong, ambitious and self-sustaining team in line with business strategy
· Plan and control the function structure and manpower requirements, headcount and budget, establish development measures and appraise the performance of the team.
· Direct and prioritise the workload of team members.
· Train and coach the direct reports and develop the succession planning.
· Compile and review work records to determine department efficiency, quality of output and cost of services
P&L Management:
· Prepare the budget and oversee the expenditure in the allocated area to ensure demand creation and maximisation of gross profit, while Pricing strategy and ASP expense allocation are conducted with cost effectiveness.
· Formulation of business plan to optimize profitability through product/customer mix analyses, e.g. consolidation and rationalization of cost control, sales volume, etc.
People and function management:
· As a Management team member, contribute to and support the management team to drive business unit performance
· Foster a high-performance culture guided by a strong vision that focuses on farmers
· Build, organize and develop a strong, ambitious and self-sustaining team in line with business strategy

Requirement:
· University degree or above with major in Agricultural Studies or Business Administration
· At least 10 year experience in commercial units, in agro business with a proven track record of developing business.
· At least 8 years of leadership experience in leading and managing successful sales team
· Excellent in communication and interpersonal understanding
· English language is preferable.
