Position: Analytics and Reporting

Division / Department: Volkswagen China Passenger Cars Brand / Sales & Marketing

Location: Beijing

Main goals and objectives:

  • Volkswagen brand is globally in a transformation phase to digitalize the brand and at the same time become more consumer-centric. The
    competitive environment is fierce, digitalization and an abundance not
    only of data points but AI analytics means that successful brands need to
    be insightful, and fast in turning insights into actions to foster new and
    repeat business.
  • The objective of the role is a supporting to the Market Intelligence lead and rest of BU in deriving meaningful insights The position holder understanding, creating and bundling the necessary data sets and extracting powerful insights that would give Volkswagen brand communications the competitive edge.

Your Responsibilities:

Insights

  • Understands the needs of brand management team in order to construct and harvest relevant data for communications strategies, brand activities and decisions

  • Actively and timeously shares new findings and insights with team and other Bus

  • Always up to date with sales entity marketing marketing plans and media investments (paid and earned) by leveraging media agency in order to obtain holistic view of brand performance in China.

  • Identify potential pain points and opportunities for brand activities towards Chinese consumers

  • Always up to date with latest industry white papers

  • Understanding of broader business issues

  • Extensive knowledge and is always up to date on Chinese consumer insights and behavior

  • Identify and apply best practice of market and industry cases addressing Chinese consumer needs

Monitoring, Research and Reports

  • Channels insights into cohesive and comprehensive action reports with clear recommendations

  • Continuously research for new market and consumer insight methodologies, sources and reports from independent sources

  • Support and offer optimization of Volkswagen owned research formats such as MPM, Social Ear, Social Media Performance

Media Management and big data

  • Work with Channel Specialist in management of data driven media management (e.g. programmatic buying projects)

Our Requirements:

  • Strong inter-personal communication and cross cultural skills
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Strong reporting presentation skills
  • Effectively communicate information and ideas in written and verbal format, and build and maintain relationships

Working experience (in years):

  • Minimum 4-6 years working experience

  • Automotive and experience in consumer facing projects beneficial

  • Strategic thinker with the ability to critically evaluate ideas and information, select relevant data and identify key trends, pain points and solutions

  • Knowledge of market and audience research techniques and research methodology

Remarks (Language, IT-Knowledge, Certificates etc.):

  • Native Mandarin and fluent in English is mandatory

  • Proficient in MS Office

  • Solid presentation skills
