An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Sales Director to join the Customer Team in the Civil Aerospace business.

The Customer Team within Civil Aerospace is pivotal in helping Rolls-Royce to prosper. The main objectives of a Sales Director in this team are to deliver business by maximising revenue for both new aircraft and in-service fleets through original equipment sales and long term maintenance support agreements. As such you will be responsible for understanding customer needs, developing sales strategies, positioning Rolls-Royce products and services, developing campaign tactics, pitching commercial solutions and negotiating complex and high value proposals.

Key Accountabilities

  • Deliver business and maximise profit for both new aircraft and in-service fleets through original equipment sales and long-term maintenance support agreements (such as TotalCare) with customers worldwide.

  • Of increasing importance is the re-sell of services to customers as and when existing agreements reach their end, or when used aircraft transition to new customers so creating a new services sales opportunity.

  • Responsible for understanding customer needs, developing sales strategies, positioning Rolls-Royce products and services, developing campaign tactics, pitching commercial solutions and negotiating complex and high value proposals.

  • Manage the internal sales process (the “Sell Value Stream”), involving critical interactions with – influencing and persuading - the leadership teams of our customer airlines, the Sales and Marketing teams of Airbus and Boeing and our own Civil Aerospace leadership team.

  • Define and execute the campaign strategy required to win the business opportunity and will make the internal case for the resources – financial, people, investment or otherwise – needed to deliver the strategy.

  • Lead the Rolls-Royce campaign team, which may have both permanent and agile members, internally and in front of the customer.

Qualifications

  • Demonstrated broad business acumen, high levels of interpersonal savvy, good customer focus and a strong drive for results

  • Educated to degree level or equivalent

  • Understand the customer's view to effectively anticipate their needs.

  • Have knowledge of Engine products and services

  • Will be culturally aware, ideally with international experience.

  • Fluency in English
