Position: Senior Controller

Division / Department: Finance / Controlling Entities& Finance Strategy

Location: Beijing

Main goals and objectives:

• Steering of material cost developments of all gearbox and electric engine projects in China

• Material cost transparency for new and series products through regularly reporting

• Conducting of project feasibility studies

• Supporting for VAP documents and for reporting to BOM and relevant business partners

• Cost analysis (Bottom-Up Calculation and Best-Of-Benchmark analysis)

• Derivation of financial targets on project level as well as on part level for new projects

• Derivation of financial targets for annual cost optimization for series products

• Representing Finance in product teams and cost optimization teams

• Executing special projects, e.g. CO2 strategy, powertrain strategy 2025+

• Reporting to Director of Product Controlling Powertrain

Your Responsibilities:

• Derivation, coordination and alignment of financial objectives/targets for new projects (development projects). Analyses of the financial impact on car projects including the communication with product management and product line controlling. Identification and illustration of possibilities to optimize the financial results..

• Material cost calculations for new projects in the region of China and coordination of expenditure calculations as well as expenditure validations with other business units like R&D, production, purchasing, QA

• Coordination and compilation of project feasibility studies including risk analysis, evaluation of alternative scenarios and derivation of decision recommendations

• Contributing to the regular reporting to BOM VGC and relevant business partners in VW Group, JVs and component plants: New projects and Material costs of all engine projects

• Execution and analysis of material cost benchmarks with products of VW group and competitor products. Analyzing and illustration of material cost optimization potential and tracking of implementation for new products and series products.

• Conducting of special tasks within the department according to the knowledge and competence of the position holder

Our Requirements:

Necessary education:

• Knowledge about product cost calculation, methods for project controlling and feasibility studies is necessary.

• Besides the financial knowledge a profound technical understanding and background is important.

• A master or diploma degree in the field of industrial engineering, mechanical engineering, automotive engineering, electrical engineering or comparable majors is required.

• High standard of convincing skills and assertiveness as well as entrepreneurial thinking and acting

• Excellent problem solving skills

• High sense of responsibility

• Be self-initiative and have strong organizational ability

Working experience (in years):

• >3-5 years of job experience preferable in fields like product controlling, project controlling or similar. Preferable the job holder should have working experience in VW Group.

Remarks (Language, IT-Knowledge, Certificates etc.):

• Fluent in German or English (written & spoken).

• Proficient user knowledge of MS applications (Excel, Powerpoint, Access)
