JOB OBJECTIVES:
He/She is accountable for investment project quality, cost, and schedule and reports to the steering committee of the project. Project Manager is the focal point of responsibility, authority, and accountability for the investment project up to ? 10 Million during the planning and execution phase. The position oversees the entire life cycle of an investment project from Basic design to start up. Including focus on front end loading and involvement of process technology in design phase is of importance.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Establish a project team for a new project in Greater China, including engineers, cost control, planner, coordinator, etc. lead team to implement the project and make sure the project will be executed in accord with BASF requirement on quality, cost and schedule;
2. Provide functional leadership for project management, support and coordinate with other discipline regarding all project issues; Be capable to coordinate with 3rd parties, local government or contractors to modify design or constructions;
3. Work out the project schedule together with the team and other disciplines;
4. Be the authorized person to sign any documents for modifications during the design or construction period;
5. Represent the owner interests in the project towards the local design institute, vendors, construction companies, etc.
6. Set up and negotiate major contracts for project execution and purchases;
7. Coordinate, monitor & control all engineering and construction activities at the individual project;
8. Supervise and approve cost estimation, basic engineering documents and technical bid evaluation;
9. Ensure that quality and safety related processes are implemented and adhered to.
10.Ensure that the documents are complete.
11.Manage interfaces with internal clients to ensure customer satisfaction and quality of project including consulting capabilities in coorporation with strategic procurements.
12.Leading a team of up to 5 persons within the BASF organization
REQUIREMENTS:
1. University degree or above, and major in Chemical Process and Engineering, etc.;
2. More than 10 years work experiences and meanwhile at least 5 years experience in project management in Chemical Industry;
3. Having experience on engagement of large project is an advantage;
4. Good command of English both in writing and speaking;
5. Team player, but working independently with focus on result and achievement;
6. Pleasant and highly responsible work attitude; and
7. Strong communication skills and conflict-handling skill
