Department/Laboratory : ODM Platforms Group

Location: Beijing

Reports to : Mechnical Team Manager

Context :

Work in a newly established R&D center with a dynamic, stimulating environment,competitive compensation and plenty of opportunities to grow professionally, in an organization providing digital set-top box, digital mobile TV and broadband networking products.

Job description :

- For STB & Gateway products; lead the technical aspects and management (technical, quality, schedule) of external ODM partners who will take part in the execution of the design and perform volume manufacturing.

- Propose technical feasible solutions in line with Technicolor product guidelines but based on mainly high level inputs from customers

- Continuously balance cost, quality and lead-time of housing and packaging designs in a competitive market.

Detailed:

- Manage whole mechanical development-flow from idea to industrial product

- Translate typical customer Look&Feel-specs into measurable/technical specs

- Set-up high level specification (or requirements) for plastic/metallic housing development

- Track and support the development and evaluation of housings and packaging @ our ODMs

o Define technical solutions in-line with Technicolor's strategy on cost, quality and availability

o Check and validate the mechanical/technical solutions.

o Validate tooling trial samples through different steps and evaluate with a "customer's eye"

Required profile :

General
-Good communication skills in English (both orally and written) and Chinese.

Specific

Skills

- Bachelor degree in Mechnical Engineering or similar by experience.

- 4+ years experience in Mechanical design, preferably in plastic for consumer products.

- Project management experience is a strong plus. (MS Office, MS Project)

- CAD tools: Pro-Engineer is a must, UG-NX6 is a plus

- Adobe Illustrator

- Plastic Injection Technology

- Industrial processes on mechanical items

- Thermal management

- Secondary process technology (Spray painting, Silk printing, Tampo printing, Laser engraving)

- Basic knowledge on electronic components is a plus.

- Experience in optics is a plus

- Experience with Regulatory (EMC, ESD, Thermal, Safety,...) is a plus.

- Experience in various mechanical testing (drop test, vibration test, storage test,...) is a plus.
