Key attributes of the job include:
1 Good verbal and written communication skills in English along with the ability to relate to every level in a customer's organization
2 Minimum of University Degree in Chemical Engineering (or Chemistry) desirable but not essential from a reputed university.
3 Self-starter with initiative, high degree of integrity, capable of working with minimum supervision
4 Willing to travel 100-150 days per year including client entertainment
5 Computing skills
6 Proven business development experience in the chemicals area including relationship development and past experience in syngas sectors (Ammonia & Methanol) would be a significant advantage.
7. Proven experience of managing teams and building a high performance culture within the direct reports
You will require various skills and disciplines to meet your objectives. Challenges include:
· Growing organisations' sales in defined market segments by:
o Achieving the sales (value and volume) via sale cum service team,
o Direct selling into the Chinese market via effective management of local agents.
o Identifying partners, opportunities for collaborations for increasing sales
o Identifying and leading team to achieve success in new areas of growth
· Exploring the market, defining targets, understanding requirements of new customers, making relationships at all levels, dealing with institutes and other organisations.
· Pricing, in line with the guidelines given by the Business and use of differentiated Services to maximise margins.
· Analyse and report on customer and competitor activities in the territory. This will include proactive input to future product development
· Identifying new sales opportunities /creating the budget for the new year as well as 3 month rolling forecasts
· Making sales plans and improving market information
· Helping business develop its China strategy for short / medium / long term
· Develop required skills in the sales/service team to grow business and service customers
Ideally you will be a graduate Chemical Engineer from a reputed university with
A few years relevant experience manufacturing/process engineering preferably in Ammonia/methanol plant operation, troubleshooting/ commissioning.
5-10 years commercial experience in Sales & business development in this or similar areas.
Min 2-3 years of proven experience in managing teams
Skills in spoken English will be an added advantage
