Summary: The U.S. Mission in Guangzhou is seeking one eligible and qualified applicant for the position of Maintenance Supervisor within the Facilities Management Office.
The work schedule for this position is: Full Time (40 hours per week)
Start date: Candidate must be able to begin working within a reasonable period of time of receipt of agency authorization and/or clearances/certifications or their candidacy may end.
Supervisory Position: Yes
Duties: The Maintenance Supervisor reports to the Facility Manager (FM) and provides overall supervision of a team of 42 LES employees. The Maintenance Supervisor oversees most aspects of operations, maintenance and repairs for the Consulate Compound, except for the Controlled Access Areas. As the senior maintenance supervisor, advises the FM and senior Consulate management on short-range and long-range facilities issues. The Maintenance Supervisor responds effectively to customer requests related to Consulate facilities, maintains certification and serves as Contracting Officer’s Representative (COR) on a wide variety of facilities projects.
Qualifications and Evaluations
Education: Associate’s degree in engineering is required.
Requirements:
EXPERIENCE: Five (5) years of experience in engineering, maintenance, construction, facilities or other technical field is required. Two (2) years of supervisory experience is required.
JOB KNOWLEDGE:
Specialized knowledge of preventive maintenance, facility repairs, and building automation systems required Knowledge of principles involved in supervising others are required. Advanced knowledge of MS Project, MS Office Suite and general knowledge of AutoCAD is required.
Evaluations:
LANGUAGE: Level 4 (Fluent) Speaking/Reading/Writing of Chinese Mandarin. Level 3(Good Working Knowledge) Speaking/Reading/Writing of English is required. (This may be tested.)
SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
Must be able to manage a large team of employees with attention to safety, performance, customer service, teamwork, morale and discipline. Communicate fluently orally and in writing, including technical details is required. Must be able to use engineering tools to track, record, troubleshoot and fine tune Mechanical and Electrical work, i.e. air flow tester, IAQ analyzer, vibration analyzer, LUX meter, etc. Driver’s license is required.
Qualifications: All applicants under consideration will be required to pass medical and security certifications.
