We are looking for a Senior Electrical Product Engineer within the Enterprise Routing Group. Our Product Engineers are accountable for both NPI and sustaining engineering for a specific product or group of products through the entire product lifecycle. Responsibilities include but not limited to:
? Work with Engineering and manufacturing partner to ensure the BOM, Manufacturing and Test processes are clearly defined.
? Work with NPI Program Manager to ensure all operations engineering deliverables for product life cycle phase requirements are met.
? Act as Engineering focal point by Product Operations for a specific product or group of products.
? Support the development of new products and drive the design to meet manufacturability, quality, reliability, cost and TTM goals.
? Drive product designs to meet DFX goals : DFC, DFQ, DFM, DFR, DFT
? Interface with company wide Business Units, CM Partners and CA personnel.
? Establish technical direction through the investigation and evaluation of new manufacturing technologies.
? Provide hardware debug mentorship to contract manufacturing test engineers and debug technicians.
? Improve manufacturing operations processes and actively enhance efficiency, consistency, cost avoidance, and customer satisfaction.
? Drive the evaluation and enhancement of the engineering design verification process with the goal of releasing zero design defects to production.
? Debug complex system level problems.
? Collaborate with the Defect Reduction Team to resolve product issues and provide direction to regional teams and CM partners.
l Skills / experience required :
? Requires BS degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent plus 7-10 years related experience.
? Understanding of system hardware architectures, design concepts and engineering development practices. Using various diagnostic tools, debug and trouble-shoot failing system down to board level and also boards down to component level. Characterize timing interface using scope, logic analyzers, TDR and various other equipment. Test, debug and bring-up proto boards.
? Ability to establish technical direction through the investigation and evaluation of new manufacturing technologies.
? Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail and processes.
? Handle large and complex projects and processes and flexible to work with others to implement technical strategy.
? Experience with Allegro and Valor.
? Good understanding of PCB fabrication process and technology.
? Good understanding of the end-to-end process for PCB assembly.
? Understanding of the entire product development process.
? Self-starter and able to adapt quickly to a dynamic product line.
? Ability to work in local and regional global teams and ability to multi-task.
? Good written and verbal communication. Good interpersonal skills.
l Desired skills:
? Ability to understand, translate and execute Agile Methodology principles within your functional environment and to meet project deliverables (e.g. scrum, sprint, backlog mgmt). Ability to use data analytics with the use of new tools (PCAM, DfM Pro, etc.) to analyze product and production data to improve quality and identify opportunities (VE, Cost Avoidance).
? Ability to understand and leverage new monetization models and the NPI requirements around them to set up NPI Programs across all innovation models (HW, SW, OEM, ODM, etc) and Offer Structures. (ex: SW PSL, XaaS, Flexible Consumption Model, SW Licensing and impact to Supply Chain and products.)
? Knowledge of SW development process and QA schemes (URC) to identify and assess SW components & systems architecture for sourcing, SW validation and alignment to BOM (Ex: I0T, Security, Virtualization, SW/System & Technologies focus) for engineering engagement and impact to project deliverables. Understand SW PSL, XaaS, FCM (Flexible Consumption Models), SW Licensing, new Offer Structures, and the impact to Cisco Supply Chain and products.
? Basic knowledge of statistical analysis (e.g. process variation, CpK, CP, etc.) to participate in problem-solving production issues, validate design & process variation. Leverages & advocates protocols for governance and use for sharing environments (JIVE, BOX, Tableau, Smartsheet, SPARK and other cloud-based solutions) to foster communication & collaboration.
? Ability to leverage tools (eg. Smartsheet, Tableau, Pega, SCP, RCE and PCAM) to develop real-time views, analyze cost, spend, ramp, risk and communicate/develop conclusions and recommendations based on data.
