As a Sensor Specialist, you will be part of the Industrial Automation Division and Measurement & Analytics Business Unit (BU) based in Shanghai. ABB is the World leader in Industrial Automation (IA) division delivers integrated solutions for control, plant optimization, and industry-specific application knowledge and services to help process industry customers worldwide to meet their critical business needs in the areas of operational profitability, capital productivity, risk management and global responsibility. These industries include oil and gas, power, chemicals and pharmaceuticals, pulp and paper, metals, cement, minerals, marine and turbocharging.

Your Tasks as a Sensor Specialist will include the following:

？ Analyze ABB sensor technology and build know how of current sensor design and manufacture.
？ Benchmark sensors in the market to understand the Pros and Cons.
？ Generate ideas for next generation sensors and implement them into the sensor design, testing and production setup.
？ Improve ABB current sensors for quality and reliability.
？ Work with electronic engineer and algorithm engineer for optimizing the sensor, understanding the sensor behavior in different application (high temperature, high pressure, high humidity, etc…).
？ Design of tests and test setups to verify the sensor design in Lab before release.

1. Master’s Degree or PhD is preferred, major in Physics Engineering, Sensor technology or Electronic System.
2. Sensor Research and Development Experience is must.
3. Familiar with Electromagnetic field / flow simulation tools ANSYS, COMSOL etc. for both Modeling and Simulation will be a plus.
4. Strong physics background in sensor technology.
5. Good experimental skills on measurement setup is preferred.
6. Fluent in oral and written English.
7. Excellent Analytic and Problem-solving skills. Prefer to work on problems.
8. Ability to work in group, be self-motivated, effective contributor when working in multi-cultural team with oversea colleagues will be considered as plus.
9. Excellent in Piezo and/or ultrasonic sensor knowledge will be a great plus.
