职位描述
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES
Project management, to include:
§ Support with the establishment of the overall success criteria for the project, including time, cost, technical and performance parameters
§ Identifying and ensuring that the appropriate line manager is aware of quality, safety, health and environment issues
§ Maintaining effective project governance, processes and systems to be utilised throughout project
§ Project planning, including producing the detailed project plan
§ Leading and facilitating the overall cross-functional project team
§ Monitoring and applying performance management techniques
§ Managing the change control process
§ Monitoring and advising upon project finances
§ Managing the flow of project information between the team and the client, through regular meetings and written communications
§ Preparing formal project progress and other reports
§ Taking a leading role in interfacing with the client and other consultants, at all project stages
Marketing and business development, to include:
§ Identifying opportunities to develop new business with existing clients and reporting such opportunities to the appropriate line manager
§ Assisting in the production of bid documentation
§ Ensuring that project case study, photograph and project CV files are kept up to date
§ Identifying ways in which project management products and services can be improved and referring ideas to the appropriate line manager
§ Understanding the Turner & Townsend 2+2=5 philosophy and identifying cross-divisional opportunities
Internal management accountabilities, to include:
§ Knowledge management – Ensuring that key information and learning generated from each project is input into the Turner & Townsend internal database
§ Financial management – Ensuring prompt client invoicing and utilising of internal accounting systems in order to monitor a project’s financial status
§ Process improvement – Identifying ways in which internal systems and processes can be improved and referring ideas to the appropriate line manager
KEY PERFORMANCE INDICATORS
A Project Manager will in part be judged by the extent to which:
§ Projects are managed to the right quality standards and are completed efficiently, on time and to budget
§ Project delivery meets the client’s objectives and is in line with the conditions of appointment
§ The project team is led effectively
§ Good relationships are developed with clients and members of the cross-functional team
§ Opportunities are identified to develop new business with existing clients
§ The internal financial status of all projects is effectively monitored
§ Key information and data is effectively cascaded and appropriately retained
KEY EXPERIENCE AND KNOWLEDGE
Essential
§ Degree qualifications in Project Management or related discipline are required (e.g. Construction, Engineering, Surveying, and Architecture)
§ 3 to 10 years experience working as a project manager
§ Experience and understanding of the characteristics of projects, over a significant portion of the project life cycle
§ Experience and knowledge of all of the main project management concepts, tools and techniques
§ Experience of leading project management commissions for small to medium sized general construction projects of low to medium complexity, or at least sufficient related experience to enable a step up to performing a lead project manager role
§ Good knowledge of construction industry technical matters, such as the different procurement routes, etc
§ Demonstrated ability to work in a fast paced and high pressure environment, to meet often tight deadlines, and to work pro-actively as part of a committed team
§ Demonstrated experience working for an international company and on projects for known international clients
Desirable
§ People management experience, particularly in the context of managing a small team delivering a project
§ Experience of managing the financial aspects of a project
§ Working as a consultant project manager
§ Business development experience, particularly in the context of identifying opportunities with existing clients
