Job description
IT Specialist in this role provides trouble-shooting service to clients by resolving technical issues case by case and closing tickets raised by clients in a timely manner.
1. Review tickets and analyze a client’s current IT environment and define future business and technical requirements.
2. Analyze technical problems and provide solutions by email or phone involving the use of existing techniques or tools
3. IT infrastructure (Server, database and storage) implementation, system consolidation, cloud computing and virtualization system deployment might be required.
4. Communicate with clients from Japan by phone or email in Japanese while be able to escalate a case to further level support in English if needed.
Trouble-shooting service touch on following technical skills:
IBM System X Servers, IBM Storage devices, Windows Servers, VMware ESX/ESXi Servers, Citrix XenApp/XenDesktop Servers, Linux Servers.
Senior Engineer are expected to be familiar with following skills while junior Engineer will be accepted to further skill through training.
Versed in Windows 2003/2008 server, setup AD, DHCP, DNS, and other services, proficient in the operation system troubleshooting, optimization, and strong problem analysis ability.
Master VMware ESX installation, configuration, administration, maintenance, familiar with Citrix XenApp and XenDesktop, familiar with Linux OS, can do simple operation.
Familiar with IBM System X and BladeCenter server architecture, understand RAID, LUN technical concepts.
Familiar with IBM storage devices, understand storage architecture, understand SAN, NAS, SVC technical and etc..
Understand Routers, switches, firewalls and other network equipment and architecture, strong knowledge of networking.
Non-technical skill requirements:
Strong team work spirit and customer care and focus is required.
Support during business hours (8am to 5pm) from Monday to Friday and work after service hours or on the weekends if needed.
