Job Description
? SME(Subject Matter Expert) for the development and implementation of a systematic process for planning for future business in China
? Lead cross functional China Futuring Team by providing environment scans, trend forecasts/monitoring/projection and analysis, complete with market and consumer trends (near & far)
? Leverage data to anticipate and research business opportunities and trends in order to uncover the subconscious and "yet to be spoken" needs and wants of Chinese consumers
? Create compelling forecasts with limited or incomplete information, perspectives and insights on social, market and consumers to help business plan for the future
? Develop strong internal business relationships with cross functional senior leaders by advising on potential scenarios, trends and opportunities
? Facilitate projects and generate intelligence from foresight methods and outputs
? Combine futuring models with design thinking process. Leverage observations and insights to anticipate needs and ask "how might we?"
? Support skill team evolution of ideas into concepts, prototypes, collection of customer feedback and prototypes/products
? Establish external industry network and manage external relationships in a way that support Ford and Lincoln brand
? Feed Advanced Product Creation process
? Related duties as assigned
Qualification:
? 5+ years of relevant B2C experience or consulting as organizational futurist in China market
? Excellent knowledge of automotive and digital marketplaces and market ecosystems
? Demonstrated anticipatory techniques and deep insights in evolution of technology and growth of IOT commerce and consumerism
? Keen insights on global trends including: population growth, urbanization, AI, environmental challenges, increased mobility, economic growth, time as a commodity
? Visceral understanding of Chinese consumer brands, preferences, fashion and status totems
? Ability to challenge, explore, explain and revealing possibilities that may exist beyond current paradigms and thinking
? Capable of creating change, managing uncertainty, coordinating a range of foresight activities, applying alternative futures and transforming to better futures
? Be comfortable with ambiguity in a fast moving environment
? Strong anticipation, teamwork and collaboration. Problem solver who relishes transformational challenges
? International mindset, having worked globally, regionally and locally, understanding stakeholder management and how to operate at all levels in an organization
? Excellent writing and presentation skills
? Local national talent preferred
