Business environment:

Product Engineers work in small teams of engineers, technicians and co-ordinators to implement and manage the assembly, test, software and packaging of whole product families, controlling their cost, quality, time to market, and subsequent changes and development. You'll also provide day-to-day Current Product Engineering support to the regional factories and help to develop long term product strategies.

Description

New Product Introduction Responsibilities

· Support Program, Design and Manufacturing Teams as required, to meet program deliverables and schedules.

· Support concurrent Engineering focusing on DFx, DfSC with Design

· Pro-actively anticipate manufacturing issues and drive correct action.

· Support procurement organizations to ensure part availability.

· Ensure that unique product requirements such as labels, badges and Regulatory requirements are documented.

· Identify and implement new process technologies as required.

· Complete capacity requirements planning to ensure forecasted volumes can be met.

· Ensure production procedures are complete in place and training is complete.

· Ensure that factory systems are properly set up.

· Support Test Engineering Team as required to ensure that product test is complete and available on schedule.

· Define product quality goals and publish quality metrics.

· Work with Watson Conrad teams to ensure product menus are complete.

· Manage Proto/Pilot builds in all supported regions.

· Manage multiple phase projects in their Regions (MVB, Quality Documents and all other Manufacturing documentation)

· Provide technical support for product ramp.

· Support regulatory team to ensure that regulatory requirements are met.

· Support Customer Support team as required to ensure that all support requirements are met.

· Support CTO (Configure to Order process), process documents and process strategy

· Support the Reverse Logistics for each product

· Support the EMR process

· Management of the implementation of DAX and MQDR

· MQDR and DAX reporting for quality metrics

Current Product Engineering Requirements and Responsibilities

· Support Contract Manufactures and Internal HP regional factories

· Identify problem areas and drive corrective action.

· Provide technical support for regional factories and CMs as required to ensure on time shipment of quality product

· Manage Engineering Change Order implementation.

· Identify and implement cost reduction opportunities.

· Act as product steward for assigned products.

· Take ownership for and contribute to assigned department initiatives.

· Support Warranty initiatives to improve customer satisfaction and reduce Warranty costs

Qualifications

BS/MS in Electrical or Mechanical engineering.

· Requires basic working knowledge of Storage and or Server based products- Candidates must have excellent organizational skills, good oral and written communications skills, and a high level of interpersonal skills.

· Must be a self-motivated team player with the ability to work in a customer oriented, very fast-paced, and demanding environment with minimal supervision.

· Professional verbal and written communication skills

· Leadership qualities: Integrity, attention to detail, timeline sensitive, goal oriented, motivator

· Ability to interface with all levels in customer organization
