Role

    

The business intelligence specialist will support management with analyzes of the relevant information and timely reporting, and will implement the solutions and the recommendations of intelligence reporting from the ASPAC BI.

    

Responsibilities:

    

• Create complex reports and ad hoc analyses for local management

• Identify issues and initiate processes improvement regarding data flow and data quality to improve data accuracy, viability and value

• Identify new potential data sources maintained locally: value of new data, integration into reporting (locally or centrally), assessment of data readiness for automation and optimization

• Communicate local reporting development, data issues and business intelligence needs to the ASPAC office on a regular basis

• Act as a local project leader for BI projects in collaboration with the ASPAC BI team

• Conduct workshops to drive and define new requirements or changes related to reporting and analysis

• Train local teams to use BI tools (IBM Cognos, Excel and in-house solutions)

              

• Train local teams to understand the relevance of specific reporting and communicate on best practices

  

• Provide inputs and participate in User Acceptance Testing / Business Testing of BI solutions

• Identify intelligence needs of each department through one-to-one communication with key employees; duties specific to this function may include the assessment of the following: what decisions need to be made, why decisions need to be made, when decisions need to be made, and who will use the intelligence to make the decisions; anticipate potential issues with requirements and act proactively to solve them

    

    

Qualification and Experience:

    

• 3+ years of experience in business intelligence, business or financial analysis, reporting

• Good oral and written English

• Good knowledge of at least one of the functional areas: finance management, customer relationships and sales, freight forwarding or logistics operations

• Basic knowledge of financial reporting (P&L, BS, CF) is a must

• Knowledge and practical experience of data preparation and analysis

• Project driven style of work

• Report development experience in any of the following tools (ordered by preference): Cognos, Tableau, MS Power BI, Qlikview, Microstartegy, Business Object

• Understanding of relational and multidimensional data models

• Must be able to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams to analyze and understand business needs in order to translate them into system specifications

• Strong visual design skills used in creating information dense, easy to understand reports and dashboards (with examples)
