Human Resources Operations Manager, China (CHI-HR-0001)

ABOUT THE DEPARTMENT/TEAM

You will be a part of the regional HR Services for East Asia which consists of 14 countries and China being the biggest operations. As the HR Operations Manager, you will lead a team across five offices in China to provide full spectrum of HR Operations function for employee life cycle activities.

WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING AND WHY

You will lead and manage the HR operations in China, aligning with the direction from regional HR to provide support of the British Council China’s overall objectives and business priorities, regional and corporate policies and directions. As the HR Lead, you will embed the implementation of global shared service and support new HRIS for daily operations.

WHAT IS INTERESTING ABOUT IT

You will be the key member to drive the change in the HR team to professionalise the function and ensure shared service is a success. You will act as business partner to provide advice to the China team on HR trends both externally and internally via the British Council regional and global offices as well as conduct regular meetings with the country HR Business Partners for HR related matters.

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR

You must possess a strong hands-on HR generalist experience, preferably from a shared services HR operations background as well as relevant working experience in HR Operations role. It is also essential that you have a good working knowledge of employment practices in HR Operations and strong written and oral communication skills in English.

The British Council has had a presence in China since 1943, and since 1979 we have been operating as the Culture and Education Section of the British Embassy and Consulate-Generals in Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou and Chongqing.
