Ericsson Packet Core Shanghai is looking for vEPC on OpenStack Deployment and Characteristics Engineers

Our team is responsible for making Ericsson Packet Core Virtual Network Services, i.e. Internet of Things, Mobile Broadband, Enterprise Core available on OpenStack platform for our global customers. The Virtual Network Services, or VNS are a vital part of the accelerating digital transformation building our networked society where everything that can be connected will be connected.

vEPC on OpenStack Deployment and Characteristics Engineer

We are looking for deployment solution and SW developers. Some of you with years of experience but also newly graduates. What you have in common is a keen interest in virtualization and cloud and Python scripting. You have an eye for virtualization deployment, performance tuning and validation. You have an eye for automation and can implement and improve it via scripts. You understand the importance of speed, quality and keeping customer commitments. You have high energy levels, are willing to learn new tasks and you are a team player who enjoys sharing your knowledge and skills with your colleagues.

You will be involved in the development of a wide range of innovative products and solutions with the latest virtual and cloud technologies.

You will be working with implementation of virtual network functions (VNF) on multiple cloud based deployments, primarily using Python.

Qualifications:

You should have a Bachelor/Master of Science in relevant area (e.g. Science within Electrical Engineering, Data Communication, Computer Science and Engineering, Software Engineering of Distributed Systems, Engineering Physics) or equivalent formal education.

• To understand our product and solutions you must have good general Datacom competence; it is essential to comprehend IP protocols and IP-based routing in an embedded environment and UNIX/LINUX
• Any experience working with OpenStack is essential.
• Performance tuning and validation experience is a strong plus.
• To be able to work with our solutions, good to great Python programming skill is a major plus.
• Fluent in English, written and oral.
